At this point, India's supposed 'enemies' are objectively better than their 'friends'. I wonder how far they're going to go down this stance and if they're willing to die on the COVID-19 hill rather than accept Pak/Sino aid. I think we will see 10k+ deaths per day very soon, if not already. Perhaps a peak of 20-30k per day. If this is the long-feared equivalent to the 1918 influenza pandemic 2nd peak, then we're only seeing just the beginning. Delhi's their best equipped medical system in the whole country, I heard, and if they can't deal with the situation.....I pity the poorer regions.

Modi saying this could set them back 21 years might be an understatement.

Hmmm, it seems that over time, the world as a whole is discovering the true colors of the USA and it Anglo Allies. Should India finally see the light and basically get rid of the western influence over time, this can only be seen as a major blow to the west because really, after all this time, the West has failed India in its time of need even when they promised to help them. Well the time is coming when most of the world will state to truly reject the ideals of the west bit by bit.
The USA had better be careful because one day they will suffer the same fate as India, abandoned in the middle to a country destroying crisis only with no offer of help.

India's elites and powerbroker- really, the ones funding and making policy in Delhi- are the same ones who have homes and investment properties in the anglosphere.
They're not going to give a shit about their own compatriot Indians insofar as they can be used to bolster their position in the anglosphere.
Notice how none of the Bollywood actors and actresses have done anything to help with the COVID crisis but most of them came out wanting to make war on China back in 2020.

Modi, Jaishankar et al are going to have indians die before they admit they fucked up in trying to make war on China and sucking up to the anglos.
I hear Manmohan Singh has been rushed to hospital and has tested covid positive; perhaps the should give modi and jaishankar pause for reflection.

When you keep lying to yourself, eventually reality will hit you squarely at your head.

And this time reality has hit India pretty hard. Time for India to stop lying to itself and start saying some hard truths about what is happening

Oh well, its no like all those properties can wealth abroad is going to save these rich elites and the government if the virus mutates enough and manages to spread to the UK and US. If China and Pakistan actually helps India, maybe India might reflect a little but if they decide that sacrificing 80% of the population is worth it for them, when really, I guess Pakistan, Nepal, China and Bangladesh can share the remains since really, India by then will have proven that they simply cannot function at all as a sovereign nation and that there cries for help from the West has fallen on deaf ears, serves as a cautionary tale in regards to accepting help from the west.

The real number of people is already 10k per day, if you add up the individual body counts from various sources.

Remember that this is just the beginning of this wave.

Most of the other states are a few weeks behind Delhi

Oh I agree that the actual count will be much higher than the official count (maybe 2-3X), we know this already. I was referring to their official figures. If they're that high, one can only imagine how high the actual count will be. We have yet to see a total collapse of a healthcare system though there were close calls in Europe. India seems to have reached that point and gone past, at which point the death rate will spike.
