I dont know who are these so-called "analysts" but this would be extremely dangerous.
China before sending any peacekeepers should first negotiate with the Afghan Gov and then with the Taliban in order to ensure that they are not seen as another imperialist power coming to occupy them.
Very important for China to get accepted from the local Afghan people. However, I am afraid that the CIA is now everywhere in Afghanistan and it would bleed China dry if it ever sent troops
Sounds like a load of nonsense said but people who can’t even stay consistent themselves. One minute they are quoted as saying Beijing will not station troops in Afghanistan and then saying China will send peacekeepers the next.
Well which is it? Or do these ‘experts’ expect PLA peacekeepers to do their peacekeeping duties in Afghanistan via Zoom?
At most I can maybe see China wanting permission to fly unarmed drones across boarder into Afghanistan to give their own boarder security forces extra warning and reaction time to deploy to intercept suspicious individuals (for example by picking up large groups of military aged males travelling together in Afghanistan before they start splitting off into small groups or individuals when they get closer to the Chinese boarder, when they would be much harder to distinguish from normal civilian traffic.
But boots on the ground in Afghanistan makes zero sense and sounds more like something Americans would wet dream about so China ends up picking up the pieces after they shat all over the place for two decades; while also presenting them with plenty of opportunity to create Chinese casualties; rather than something China would actually consider.
