China has administered 164.47 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of Saturday, the National Health Commission said on Sunday.

This represents around 24.5 million doses in the past six days, as the country’s vaccine rollout continues to accelerate.
Good job. So roughly 4mln doses per day. I expect that the daily doses administered will be increased further in next week

China considers mixing Covid-19 vaccines to offer more protection

Western MSM once again deliberately misinterprets what a Chinese official said, in this case, China's CDC director. Why am I not surprised?
Exclusive: Chinese CDC director refutes interpretation of ‘low protection rate of Chinese vaccines,’ says it confuses scientific vision he proposes to improve efficacy
The Director of the Chinese Center of Disease Control (China CDC) on Sunday refuted claims by some media outlets and overseas social media platform users that the director “admitted” Chinese COVID-19 vaccines have a low protection rate, saying that “it was a complete misunderstanding.”

In an exclusive interview with the Global Times, Gao Fu, head of the China CDC, said as scientists around the world are discussing vaccine efficacy, he offered a scientific vision: that to improve the efficacy, adjustment of vaccination procedures and sequential inoculation of different types of vaccines might be options.

"The protection rates of all vaccines in the world are sometimes high, and sometimes low. How to improve their efficacy is a question that needs to be considered by scientists around the world," Gao said. "In this regard, I suggest that we can consider adjusting the vaccination process, such as the number of doses and intervals and adopting sequential vaccination with different types of vaccines.”

Gao stressed that as it is the first time human beings have encountered COVID-19, there are many scientific problems to be studied when it comes to vaccinations.

"This is also the first time that humans have been vaccinated with a novel coronavirus vaccine. All the vaccination procedures we have adopted so far have been based on previous extrapolations of other virus vaccines inoculation, and that extrapolation has worked pretty well,” Gao said. “But in the future, if we need to make improvements, we can make adjustments based on the characteristics of the novel coronavirus and the vaccination situation.

Yeah, this is really really really sad.

A desperate propaganda reach. Shamefully really since the AP was quick to point out the negative opinions the state media had towards mRNA as “unproven”.

I don’t remember any articles from the western media laughing at J&J’s “low” 65% efficacy rate. Rather they were saying it the usual “anything over 50% is usable according to WHO, this is way above that”, and “the advantage of a one shot vaccine will boost overall vaccination rates”.

This is what people are not understanding, the need for the vaccine is two-fold, reduce the severity of infection, and prevent spread as well. Lower efficacy rate just means that the vaccination program must be more aggressive.

Kind of depressing to see this blind patriotism. mRNA technology was something never tried before, the only reason why that risk was taken was because 100’s of 1000’s died. This is nothing to brag about!

In any case, looks like Chile’s data is at 56%, probably

These western media are shameless in the way they would misrepresent in a negative way any kind of report on the Chinese vaccine. I just heard on Aljazeera news that China has just admitted that its vaccines have a low protection rate apparently in reference to China's CDC director's comment on how to improve the effectiveness of its vaccines.

Just how believable is the reported 3 percent efficacy rate after the first dose when Brazil has reported a much better efficacy rate of 50% in preventing symptomatic infection after just one dose of the Sinovac in its rollout?

Vaccination with at least one dose of CoronaVac was associated with a 0.50-fold reduction in the odds of symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection during the period 14 days or more after receiving the first dose, according to a report release on medRxiv on Wednesday based on the rollout of the vaccine in Brazil.

Bro, the influenza vaccine efficacy is around 30%, so that's why CDC put a 50% efficacy as requirement for "Great" vaccine efficacy for emergency use.

Plus, mRNA vaccine is experimental without long-term side effect data, yet you don't see Western media pointing this out.
