Gotta hand it to the Iranians, at least they've got spine and grit and know dignity befitting a great civilisation.

Sadly, the same cannot be said for the heirs of Rome (Italians).
Iranians are not as dignified as you think they are. While they are anti-imperialists they also worship white people. Their Gov has been betrayed so many times by the West but they still continued worshipping white people. Its youth especially are ultra white worshippers (think Hong Kong)

The only difference is that after the Trump betrayal a lot of delusional people have woken up and their "reform" faction which is in power now is in its last legs. At the summer election, it is expected that the Iranian hardliners are to get in power with a lot of votes.

After this happens.... good luck to the West, because Iran will turn to the East.

At the very least China respects Iran and it talks to it like an equal partner. Win-Win for Iran and China on their deal

You never win a war with air power alone . You have to put boot on the ground. Here is the break up of China landing forces 30 LST, 8 LPD, and a gaggle of small landing craft. Come on do the math each of LST can accommodate I am generous here 400 marine with 3 ZBD 5 each of LPD can accommodate 800 marine So total 12000 + 6400= 18400 That is only 2 battalion of army Taiwan has at least 100,000 assuming they have 5 landing site suitable for assault So each of the beach will be defended by 20,000 soldier . The rule of thumb is the attacking force should be 3 to 1 compare to the defending side. So how can China win with so few soldier on the ground.

So no wonder they have no respect of China. they just walk all over China's head
The Chinese are already building more type 071 and type 75 ships for this purpose.

No deal. Lift ALL sanctions then talk. But we all know the US will not so the JCPOA is effectively dead.

There was no discussion when the US unilaterally and dishonorably pulled out of JCPOA.

Nothing to discussed until US restore the status quo before the sanctions, apologize and pay indemnification for all the damages and harm for US blatant violation of international agreement and rule-of-law.

Everyone talk about plane and ship, forgetting logistic. Food insecurity and energy supply are China’s biggest weakness.
Cargill, Anderson’s, Bunge are all in US. US will weaponize food.

I don't know why you say China food insecurity. China is independent when it come to grain supplying 95% of her need from domestic sources. As far as energy yes She import 55 % of the petroleum need from Middle east But mostly are used for transportation. In case of interruption she can depend on excellent public transportation of rail, subway and busses . Yes there will be inconvenience and hardship but hardly fatal. I still remember back in 60's there is hardly any car in China but people life still goes on.

Most power generating station in China use coal and they are mostly domestically source . China did import coal from Australia for the southern provinces because it make more economic sense as transportation cost is higher from sources in Shanxi and Inner Mongolia.

During WWII Japan seal the access to oil and food from Chinese coast And China does not produce single drop of oil then Yet they survive Today China produce 45% of her oil need from domestic source and mostly independent when it come to coal and hydropower. So bring it on

I'm sure many people are aware the number one agricultural product imported by China is soy beans, but do you know why that's the case?

China is well aware of the possibility of food being used as a weapon. After all the state of Qi successfully used this strategy during warring state to allow it to achieve primacy among the five peers. And in recent years it was used to some degree of success against China in 2004 and again in 2006, but failed in 2008.

Since then China has enacted a deliberate strategy of ensuring food security among staple foods such as rice and wheat. Production of other agricultural products (eg soy beans) have been purposely de-prioritised to ensure sufficient staple food production. The idea is that during times of war and blockade China can always produce enough staple food to feed her people. If soy beans cannot be sourced for oil production than the nation will simply switch to other, less desirable source of cooking oil (palm oil, rice bran oil, maize oil etc etc) in war times. The people may not have as high quality of food as they would enjoy during peace times but no one will go hungry.
