Before a DF-16 missile is launched, its inertial navigation system (INS) needs to be calibrated to obtain accurate gyroscope initial parameters (longitude, latitude, and altitude). Under normal conditions, the launch vehicle uses the onboard Beidou navigation system for centimeter-level positioning. As a backup in case that the satellite navigation system does not work during wartime (e.g., due to nuclear explosions in space), the traditional method based on the external reference points and laser instruments can be used for pre-launch calibration.

not a heavy gun like the DF41 but still impressive as it can be equipped with nuclear warheads:

It has a diameter of 1.2 m and can carry a 1,000 kg payload between 800-1,000 km. It can be equipped with up to three MIRV high explosive, nuclear, or submunition warheads.

日本已明确北京若发动台海战争将派自卫队协防台湾!那么北京“武统”时一定会使用“战术核武器”速战速决!

Japan has made it clear that if Beijing launches a war in the Taiwan Strait, it will send its Self-Defense Forces to help defend Taiwan! Then Beijing will use "tactical nuclear weapons" to make a quick battle during the "armed reunification"!

Recent meeting of US secretary of defense Austin at Japan and have discussed the situation of Taiwan.
Japan had stated it would send it forces to help Taiwan directly.

If PLA attack Japan, US forces will enter the war due US and Japan alliance

So in that scenario, China must take over Taiwan within 1 to 2 days.
In China right now floating tactical nuke against Taiwan as to quickly end the war. The site Most likely used is Taiwan mountain internally hosting Taiwan fighter jets.

China is planning it must end the war before japan can directly get involved

That was until recently against the Japanese constitution. Japan abdicated of the right to pursue war. The Self-Defense Forces could only operate in case of an attack against Japan, not Taiwan. I think they recently added an exception for peacekeeping forces but that would likely require a UN Security Council mandate which would likely be vetoed by both China and Russia. Plus if Japan did send in their fighter aircraft and navy the Chinese could simply use MRBMs like the DF-26 to strike at Japanese naval task forces and airfields.

China does not need to use tactical nukes against Taiwan proper because of the massive superiority they have in conventional weapons versus Taiwan. Taiwan is in range of mainland China. The PLA could simply saturate the relevant areas of Taiwan with their MRLS. If Japan and the US actively enter such a conflict, the US risks to lose all their bases and troops across the 1st and 2nd island chain.

That's the plan between US and Japan. Once Japan sent forces, and get involved militarily with China , US can enter officially due to US and Japan alliance.

Japan will breach whatever UN restriction if unification war does breakout. Do first and talk about it later.
Japan ramping up aegis sea based missile defense systems

MRLs not enough to break open the mountain military hideout, it's facing the east side away from the direct hit.

Not even that. The US will use the Japanese bases so China would have to respond by attacking these bases. , then Japan will have the "self-defence" excuse and go to war.

Japan has already decided on China's containment. The question is how far they intend to go to achieve this.

IMO, Japan will want fall on its sword for the US if the recent spineless impressive show by the Japanese to the US is anything to go by.

On the other hand there are significant economical interests resisting this stance, so I suppose we will have to wait to see which side will win. The security (deep state) or the financial establishment?
