Possibly a PLAA pilot sitting in the rear seat of Mirage-IIID while the PAF front-seat pilot gave the briefing before take-off.

The Z-11WB is apparently in production. It was first seen two Zhuhai shows ago.

I'm actually not confident those are Z-11WBs under construction.

Notably, if we look on the left side of the nose of the under construction Z-11s, it looks like the location that you would expect the EO/IR turret to have an emplacement on, is smooth and already "complete" -- i.e.: looking like it will not have an EO/IR turret installed there.

Of course we can't rule out it might be some kind of special mission variant of Z-11, but based on what we can see it isn't exactly consistent with the Z-11WB we know.

I think you are right. The 'production' airframes do not match the prototype shown on previous occasions.
