Trump says he is taking it to prevent COVID-19 infection, which is both idiotic and irresponsible. Idiotic, because the drug may do more harm than good to himself. Irresponsible, because it will set a bad example for the general population at large. We know how ignorant the common people are in the U.S. Some even ingested disinfectants with the faintest hint. Now, a lot of them will start to take this particular drug, risking irreversible retinal damage, damage to the heart muscle, cardiac arrhythmia including potentially fatal QT prolongation (usually when the patients have underlying heart disease), acute liver failure (fatal without prompt liver transplant), muscle and nerve damage etc etc.
