Coronavirus 2019-2020 thread (no unsubstantiated rumours!)

No
Not gonna happen to both of them.
Consider previous outbreak of the fluenza A 24 (or 26?) million infected, 28000 ICU and 16000 fatalities. And US still can handle it.
For US health system they sure have the capabilities and capacity to deal with the COVID19 since only less then 500 infected cases in US.

Pray for them
inspired me to look up the initial Chinese data; Jan 29, 2020
what I called the first day (Jan19 in China) had the reported number of confirmed cases: 198, and that's pretty much where the US is today (March 7), with 213 according to

2nd day (Jan20 in China) 291
3rd day (Jan21 in China) 440
4th day (Jan22 in China) 571
5th day (Jan23 in China) 830
6th day (Jan24 in China) 1287
8th day (Jan26 in China) 2744
9th day (Jan27 in China) 4515
11th day (Jan 29 in China) 6061

no problem if those numbers were inaccurate, or if I misstyped or whatever, still it's going to be interesting to follow the differences

EDIT of course I doubt there'll be any strong government interventions in the US of the type there're in China

the poster later explained that, but s/he apparently exaggerated by claiming (Today at 6:17 PM post) "the attack rate in Wuhan was about 1% before the lockdown" as Wuhan is ten plus million people, so it'd mean 100k plus infected Jan. 24
The initial numbers are inaccurate because there weren’t enough tests done. Look at how many cases South Korea discovered once they have started to do mass testing
