Huh? The Russian P-700 Granit pioneered automatic coordination & target deconfliction between individual missiles in a salvo and ECM has been deployed at least since the P-500 Bazalt.

(please don't quote me wiki that says it does -- I've heard the LRASM is just the JASSM-ER with a seeker for homing, without ESM)

You're just throwing out random numbers and making wholesale assumptions that have no evidentiary basis of any kind. You have no evidence how much distance a stealth missile can be detected, much less under what conditions and by what sensors, including "EAW" platforms. You just don't even have the faintest clue about any of these things, yet you are making these grandiose assumptions like you somehow do know.

As for cost, you have absolutely no idea about the 'true' cost of any given stealth missile. That "5-7 mil per missile" is a random inflated number you pulled out of literally nowhere, let's be honest here. Not only that, stealth ASCMs don't have to attack with as high a number as standard ASCMs since they can get much closer to the target before being detected. Saturation attacks involving nonstealthy missiles assume that the detecting platform knows about the saturation attack from far away, and can mount a vigorous defense. The scenario plays out as a brute force war of attrition between attacking missiles and defending missiles, CIWS, and ECM. With stealth missiles the detection envelope is shrunk to a significant extent, so that even if the defending platform had enough air defense missiles, they may not have enough time to launch all of them before the stealth missiles are upon them. In addition, both air defense missile and CIWS Pks as well as effective range are invariably decreased against smaller RCS targets like stealth missiles.

I think its against rules to hot link so I will basically summarize what Mike Griffin, he previously served as Administrator of NASA the recently appointed U.S. undersecretary of defense for research and engineering shares the idea that hyper-sonic missiles is correct tech tree for R&D money and current Defense Sectary Raytheon executive Mark Esper and Joint Chief of Staff Mark Miley agrees with the incoming budget plan, quit demanding insider level expert detail as "evidence" of my claim because obviously I wont have it but I can be a messenger to superficial article and said hypersonic is the agreed direction among experts

They aren't my slow subsonic swarms of missiles that can somehow work magic.

I'm pointing out that the US only has subsonic anti-ship missiles at this time. They are by definition slow and give the defenders time for multiple salvoes even if only detected at the radar horizon.

It's why the US Navy is developing their own supersonic missiles, because they know speed works.

So what does this mean for the vaunted submarine launched LRASM which some posters here think can work magic?

It's just another missile after all.

Just to summarise the point above, the Pentagon leadership all agree that hypersonic weapons (using speed) is where military R&D spending should go, because it actually works.
