The anti-government Hong Kongers and anti-China Western media have used misinformation, blatant lies, as well as nudging along baseless rumors (let's not give them too much credit for merely freeriding on the foolish nature of their puppets) at least since the Occupy Central protests such as by referring to it with the decontextualizing term "umbrella movement".

Chinese get agitated when a non conforming view is presented. Not new. This thread is about months of violent protests in hk, but you feel uncomfortable about disccusing it, then close the thread?

We've been discussing the violent riots very well. We don't like uninformed, unqualified views, especially from those who not only do not have an open mind but also believe that to understand something basically means to have seen it. You're "non-conforming views" are like Trump telling a bunch of scientists that you should nuke a hurricane to stop it. Except unlike him, you insist that's the right answer.

The message she is holding is obviously photoshopped and is some sort of mockery of her actual message as it is about being attacked by extraterrestrials so asking for help from the JSDF or better yet the US or UK military.

I have a different impression and would say:
要 求 = Demand, definitely bossy
請 求 = Request, polite and subject to context as to whether dominant or submissive
恳 求 = Appeal, passionately ask, emphasis on importance and care, subject to context as to whether dominant or submissive
求 = Beg, definitely submissive

Ok,. Its not word for word, ok but here goes.

Basically saying we are being attack,
So we are begging that the Japanese self defence force to come in and protect us.
Better still, if the US and UK army to come and protect us.

Not so obvious to me as some HKer's actually refer to mainland Chinese as extraterrestrial to demean and dehumanize.

The reactions (emoticons) to this post suggest that most people are considering this to be false.

The police already sent out a statement and press conferences that this is false and disinformation. Not going to stop the MSM though.

However, there was one death attributed to a protestor falling off a walk bridge elsewhere.
