Approximate guide to how many people you can squeeze in a confined space.

Also, bear in mind the 80-20 rules. So in any society, there will be at least 20% of people opposed to whatever the majority proposed. So given Hong Kong population of 7 million, 1.4 million is still only 20 %. A minority in anyone's language. But of course, the MSM wont ever mention this inconvenient fact!

Absolutely, yet the MSM wont tell you that. I mean, in the UK (and maybe US and other western countries), we have laws to safeguards this. Its called anti-radicalisation. Basicallly, teachers/lectures (I'm one) have to be vetted before they allowed to teach. We are also not allowed to radicalised young adults on religion and politics. Or teaches HATE!

So if we are not allowed to radicalised young adults, then why is it acceptable for Hong Kong teachers to teach hatred (and I mean HATRED) towards government of Hong Kong and China?

Its ironic that this same teachers are quite happy to accept monthly paycheques from their own government they despises!

You mentioned a very important aspect. That's the importance of primary, secondary, and tertiary educations. I suspect the young people in HK are brain washed by western propaganda since childhood, mainly through their education. I'm a firm believer that who commandeers the high ground of education wins the ideological war, while the media play a secondary role. It's very unfortunate that the HK government folded to the same ideologues we see today and scrapped the plan to teach more Chinese history in the HK high school curriculum in 2012.

"An Early Night (Saturday 8 p.m)

Protesters dispersed after some clashes with police, and the day ended without the use of tear gas for the first time in weeks.

Eggs and laser beams (Saturday 7 p.m.)

Hong Kong police said a “large group of protesters” who surrounded its station in Mong Kok posed a threat to its officers at the scene. Some demonstrators were seen aiming laser beams at the police officers, and pelting eggs at the station.

Police in riot gear cleared the area around the station of protesters."

In general, I believe the police estimate. The police are an official entity with social responsibility to tell the truth and far less reason to lie. There is just too much incentive for the organizers to blow up the numbers to make their event look more meaningful. Meanwhile, from the article linked above:

"Pro-China rally (Saturday 5 p.m.)

Tens of thousands joined a pro-government rally in Tamar Park, Admiralty, filling the space adjacent to the central government offices. “Support the motherland, support one country two systems; anti-violence, save Hong Kong,” they chanted. Organizers estimated the crowd size at 476,000, while the police said it was around 108,000, broadcasters reported."

I believe the police estimate on that as well.

^ The HK police force is well disciplined and very professional. Some of its members are former British citizens who have stayed in HK after the 1997 handover.

Look at the standard issue protective goggles and masks.

China really needs to be following the money to see who is funding this.

It's going to awkward when the CCP wastes its time and energy looking for a foreign instigator, only to later find out that it was its own policies and backpedalling of its promise of autonomy to HK that ultimately led to this backlash.

Of course, it knows this already and is still peddling the idea of an American/Western-led "coup" to those brainwashed enough to believe it. But outside of mainland China, where information is heavily censored and whose citizens don't know better than to swallow whatever they're spoonfed, who else will actually believe the CCP's crap?

There's an idiot yielding a sword, that's no peaceful intention.
