Trade War with China

Lieutenant General
the only people concerned in any way with the trade war are farmer's, and manufacturers who have taken advantage of China's "cheap labor",, those manufacturers will have to "pony up", and pay someone else more, as for the farmer's, once China starts to seriously import those smaller, less productive soybeans??,, well, lets just say China is going to missing a cleaner larger soybean, as much as farmer's are going to missing the Chinese market...

to say anyone in the US is "deathly afraid" is nonsense, and YES, I do own a family farm and yes, this will affect my bottom line.! I don't know Jura, is everyone in the EU "deathly afraid"?

there are a few people who are concerned? but the President does have an "end game", so lets see how things are going? at the end of the 4th quarter??

I will say this, I'm NOT in favor of high taxes or higher tariffs, but I am in favor of more equitable trade practices,, and the President is right, we do get "jacked around" way to much.......

but if you go out on the street in Houston and ask your neighbors about China 2025 agenda??? are you seriously going to tell me that anyone you talk to will have any other response than, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT????

Everything the US produces isn't better. That's why the Japanese beat Detroit on cars back in the 80s. Yes the US and Europe are deathly afraid of Made in China 2025 because if China produces any future technologies, China will be making all the money and the US and Europe won't be controlling who gets it. Air conditioners and washing machines use to be considered luxuries only found in the developed world. Now because of China people in developing countries can now afford them. China creates new markets that the West finds too risky. Same worries on One Belt One Road. The ultimate fear is China being able to do what the US and its allies are doing right now... . Just look at how Bolton was upset at the possibility of Americans being held under human rights violations under the international criminal court while the US regularly wants to prosecute foreigners. Or how about when the US bombs another country?

Actually I ride a Pinarello Prince, with Shimano running gear,,, yes, I did try a few Chinese Bicycles, the last one I returned to Walmart because the stem would NOT tighten down on the handlebar, it was junk. We have an older mountain bike, attractive bike with an aluminum frame, but the frame isn't even square, the back end kind of follows the front end??

We'll stick to those nice lil' natural soybeans over the big US "pig feed" GMO soybeans LOL Don't worry your kind ol' heart for us, Brat!

But clearly, you have not been reading the tech news... or any news?? "Deathly afraid" is an understatement; have you even read Trump's major "demand" for China to defund Made in China 2025? That's actually the biggest roadblock to trade talks; China can buy more things, close the trade gap (of US printed fiat money), but we will never stop our technological advance and that's got DC unable to make a deal. You haven't come armed with the proper knowledge, Brat, and you're talking to the wrong people. Ask in Silicon Valley, America's tech hub, if they know about Made in China 2025; don't just pick people who think college is for the "fancy city folks" LOL. Hell, if you went to the homeless shelter or county jail, you can talk about the trade war or technology in general and hear that same, "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" ignorance you find so reassuring!

I very specifically rebutted Equations statement Mangi that Americans are NOT afraid! that is all!

I don't eat Soybeans, I eat Pinto Beans, Southern Cornbread, and slaw, but I do use Soy Sauce on my fried rice...

American Agriculture is very resilient, we've got lots of gorgeous, productive, black dirt, we can grow anything we need, and we do feed lots of hungry people.....

You're the one whose ignorant of agriculture friend, its a science, and an art, its a beautiful thing, maybe you ought to grow yourself a garden, great for stress relief.....

Brat Brat Brat, you didn't think you'd run into someone who knew bicycles here, did you? Thought you could get away with that comparison? A Pinarello Prince is a $2,100 Italian bicycle frame and you're comparing it to a $150 Walmart Chinese bicycle?? LOLOL Please, Pinarello has a perfect Chinese analogue: the Chinarello (a carbon bootleg) which costs only $300-$500 for the frame from China. When tested by an independent agency dropping the bike from one meter height with 70kg weight on the frame, the Pinarello scored an 80 for resilience while the Chinarello scored an 86. Many racers bought a Pinarello Dogma (a superior frame to the Prince at a cost of $6,000 from Pinarello) for racing and a Chinarello for training but ended up finding the Chinarello superior in stiffness and performance. If you want to compare $150 bikes, let's see what the US can slap together for $150 first LOL.

I very specifically rebutted Equations statement Mangi that Americans are NOT afraid! that is all!
And you very specifically failed, unless you meant that the Americans who are ignorant are not afraid because they don't know something exists. In which case, congratulations, that's true, from a philosophical perspective! One cannot fear something that one does not know exists LOL

I don't eat Soybeans, I eat Pinto Beans, Southern Cornbread, and slaw, but I do use Soy Sauce on my fried rice...
I don't care. Too much irrelevant information.

American Agriculture is very resilient, we've got lots of gorgeous, productive, black dirt, we can grow anything we need, and we do feed lots of hungry people.....
And all those hungry people will be Americans if you start trade wars with other countries originally willing to purchase from you.

You're the one whose ignorant of agriculture friend, its a science, and an art, its a beautiful thing, maybe you ought to grow yourself a garden, great for stress relief.....
You claim that I'm ignorant, but you don't say where I made a mistake. Do tell me how I'm ignorant because that little subway poem you wrote doesn't mean jack.

No, we're not afraid of made in China 2025
As per your own definition, "we" refers only to the people you meet on the streets of Texas who are not educated enough to know what it is. Reading the news, "we" clearly does not include American politicians nor those in Silicon Valley who are actually informed.

And PS, When you feel the need to emphasize several times to different people how NOT scared you are, that's really convincing ;)

Mangi! Mangi!, a cheap Chinese bicycle with Pinarello stickers on it? is NOT a Pinarello, my Pinarello is made in Itally, though I do believe Pinarello actually has some of their frames built in Taiwan, they have very superior geometry, and very superior carbon fibre... so you can have all the cheap Chinarello's you wish my boy, made in China 2025, build as many as your heart desires.....

They do NOT ride like a Pinarello, and they are much heavier? nobody builds a high end bicycle for 400 bucks, why don't you read Road Bike Review, you might learn something??

anyway, enjoy the trade war,,, I'm gonna let you have the last 10,000 words....

It's not a Pinarello, Brat, it's a superior bike made in China for much cheaper. Nobody that YOU know of, can make a great frame for $400; but Chinese people don't follow your rules, not in air frame manufacturing and not in bicycle frame manufacturing. And you're starting to short-fuse from ignorant rage again; there is no such thing as "superior geometry" LOL. Identical geometry is identical. As for the quality testing results, read them here:

Use Google translate. Chinarello: 86, Pinarello: 81 on the stress test, done in Europe. That's superior carbon fiber to me and you have no idea how they ride because you've never ridden one. You only like to imagine that they ride poorly because otherwise that would lead you to the inevitable conclusion that Western countries manufacture a worse product for more money than the Chinese can. The only thing you are mildly correct on is that a comparably sized Chinarello frame is roughly 80 grams heavier than Pinarello's highest end frame; 80 grams is the weight of a small tube of toothpaste... for over $5,000 savings and added stiffness/crash resilience. I don't read reviews done by people who are paid by Pinarello or other expensive bike companies to protect thier brand image by frightening people into spending money; I read real reviews by riders who want the best bike for their money. And lastly, I ride Chinese carbon myself.

anyway, enjoy the trade war,,, I'm gonna let you have the last 10,000 words....
Walk away the bigger man when you're confronted with evidence and have no intelligent way to argue back. Thanks for "letting" me LOL.

LOLOL I'm so sorry Brat, but you might need to update your bicycle knowledge (among others) very badly, since you don't even know where your own bike was made. The Pinarello Prince is made in the Republic of China and then sent to Italy for painting, at which point Pinarello declares it, "Made in Italy."

No Mangi, here again, you're showing your ignorance, I can assure you, I have an Italian made Pinarello Prince I'm the one who just told you the Prince was now made in TAIWAN. I can assure you, your 400 dollar Chinese copy of a Pinarello is not a true assymetrical Pinarello.

and this is indeed the essence of Mr. Trump's point of renegotiating with China, China has attempted to copy a high end Pinarello, and they market the Chinarello as a Pinarello, as for material, the real Taiwan Prince is made with very, very high integrity carbon fibre, and the geometry is indeed much more complicated than you realize... so enjoy your bike, you would probably be happier now if you were out riding, I know I would be...

Intellectual property rights are central to the trade issue, and the Pinarello name is trademarked, to sell your bike on ebay as a Pinarello is considered fraud, but lots of folks are attempting to do just that... anyway, good night....
