Different utility curves. I doubt that Lockheed Martin and USAF are run by morons. In any case, without using the F135 in F-35 range and opting for something like two F414 derivatives, means high end projects like F135 and improvements do not get the budgeting they deserve. Creating these next gen high thrust fans is arguably more useful than next generation version of F414/EJ200.
Yep, two F-135s,,, it would prolly burn the tail clean off at MACH 2.9, LOL!
