J - 16, J - 20 's pilot · Chen Jun' s grandfather is Air Force first grade hero who shot down and damaged eight US military planes during the Korean War, former Beijing Army Air Force Command · Liu Yudi. A bit similar?
What a progress from J-7 to J-20. Love looking at the old photos. From grandfather to grand son guarding China's sky

J-16、J-20のパイロット・陳瀏の外祖父は朝鮮戦争で8機の米軍機を撃墜・損傷した空軍一級戦闘英雄、元北京軍区空軍司令・劉玉堤である。ちょっと似てる?

Remember this guy Liu Yudi Here is the video about his exploit shooting down 4 USAF in single engagement outmatch by 20 to 100 USAf fighter he still manage to shoot down 4
Interesting video It give a tidbit how unprepare China was at the onset of Korean war they only have 200 fighter vs 1200 US fighter and only 100 air time vs 1000 for the us pilot with many of them veteran of WWII

Nah, like the awesome picture above, J20s loves melting into the shadows. They don’t want you to see them until it’s way too late.
The only kinds of information that still generate this kind of buzz around the J-20 are ones that tell us something about 1) its engines, 2) its weight, 3) its performance, 4) its potential weapons suite.

Can we estimate an inventory from the serial number? 78271 implies that there's 71 J-20s running around.

How do you come to 71??? It's in fact aircraft number 21 and no. 21 is simply the individual aircraft number within that unit. In this case we know that it is the 66th Brigade at Dingxin (even if by the old standard pattern it would be the 176th).

Serial system: 78271 = 78x7x denotes unit ... seems as if here the pattern is 787-721 = 66 aka 66th Brigade and xx = the individual aircraft number.

We know that this unit is a mixed blue force unit flying J-16s, most likely J-10C and also J-20 ... and all serials we know so far show that the J-16 have 78071 to 78078 aka xx = 01-08, the next block of numbers is missing (so maybe J-10C) and 78271-78276 are the known J-20, so 78271 is in fact the very first J-20 assigned to this unit.
