Russian Su-57 Aircraft Thread (PAK-FA and IAF FGFA)

They can't check unless they have real stealth planes :p Of which they have none. Su-57 is about as stealthy as a clean Rafale with maybe a slightly better frontal RCS. It's not good enough to simulate RCS of B2, F-35, or F-22. Maybe also not J-20 if surface looks are anything to go by. But of course the fanboys will cry about it not being anything. The J-20 is a shit copy of Mig-1.44 made out of cardboard. The irony is this is actually good for China. The more these people, wherever they are, bury their heads in the sand while remaining anti-China in every matter, the further they fall behind in reality and the less they realise how much others have improved and how far they've fallen. The race is not over, in fact it has barely started and these morons are patting themselves on their backs.
LOL OK guys I won't disturb your collecting of dBsm in this or that direction (while the aircraft shows up in IR), cheers

No long range or medium range SAM or AAM is IR guided. IR sensors still do not have the amazing realistically effective range to engage stealth fighters.

OK OK you've won here, keep going, minus one hundred dB can't be the limit
just careful of some NK Charlie with a flak LOL!

Dude it's not about winning. We're just discussing something. Nothing is really at stake here except for some russian and indian fanboy pride. Just wanted to deal with the nonsense and dispel some misconceptions.

RCS is but a single spec, not very accurate one.

It is a difficult to predict variable but all aspect wise, Su-57 will light up radars. Look at the countless protrusions all around the plane, the angled vents, the fuselage, attention to detail, rivets, skin contour. All available evidence to us shows this is less of an all aspect stealth platform compared to the NATO equivalents which it will be up against. Hence it is not a good indicator of how those NATO planes will be like to spot in case of a fight.

hombre it's fine, I've read dozens of books describing actual combat to know the gear is just a part of the story
until a shooting war starts, it's just propaganda/sales talk, 'Bring Them In!'

have the last word here if you want

Example: using longer ranged weapons from early design stage.
57 bays aren't just shallow, they're quite long.
Furthermore we don't even know if bulkhead between them is important or not.

Perhaps. And?

That's a short range missile if we're realistic. Even their sales brochure claims only max 50km range while air launched probably with initial velocity >Mach 1. And this is the longest range one currently in existence for only French approved customers. Hardly going to be shooting down stealth fighters all around the world at >75km are they?
