Here is the video of how they built module for type 55

Technically, this video about PLAN's industry liaison, who keeps an eye on the shipyards on behalf of the navy to ensure that things are built to spec and work as designed before taking delivery. We have no way of confirming if the footage from around 0:28 to 0:50 are indeed of 055.

So 112 VLS short of the 128 expected

Very heavy tonnage I would have thought it would match South Korea heavy destroyer

There's an interesting graphical model in the video Hendrik_2000 posted around the 1m mark, discussed in more detail by Henri K.

It would appear that the 055 has 6 gas turbine generator sets, in addition to 2xCOGAG. Henri K speculates the gas turbine generators could generate between 30-42MW of electrical power, 3x as much as the Flight III Arleigh Burke. So it could be that they traded off some missile capacity for future energy growth/redundancy requirements. Also, the new stealth smoke stack takes up its share of space.

You might get the same response abc123 got if you had asked about it the way he did. Maybe you don't realize this but there's a difference between asking a genuine question and making veiled loaded points with fake pretenses. You tend to do a lot of the latter, and when people argue against the substance of your points you often make insinuations about their biases rather than address the actual substance (that's what happened in our last exchange). As I understand it, it's why you get into a lot of these verbal scuffles. Also, given the last few pages of comments and the general pattern of interactions centered around you lately, I think it's worth mentioning your complaints about being mistreated will come off as disingenuous when you are the instigator of disrespectful conduct rather than just its target, or when you take some measure of contentment from others being disrespected, but find exception when such treatment is aimed at you. I think we could all do better to maintain a basic standard of respect and etiquette here, but my advice would be that if that's what you yourself truly want, you need to start with your own conduct. You won't look very credible trying to shift blame to others if it looks like you're just using it as an excuse to absolve your own contributions to a toxic environment. That ends up looking opportunistic, and it will just engender more reactions in kind. If you think you should be treated better, be less haughty, treat others the way you would want to be treated, and if others are being unfair or nasty to you let those people worry about their own conduct and let the mods handle it. We're all only as entitled to the conduct that we ourselves choose to uphold.

That was actually damn well written. You need to be a counselor or therapist of sorts.

Let's not forget the value of looking less threatening than USN. China is using that in the number of strategic missiles. China doesn't destroy countries but still looks competent. China has a much lower defence budget.
Also Russia with an even lower budget looks much more competent when compared with US and their sixty allies in the troubles in the Middle East.

Sincerely, I think that time for acting as "poor and weak" China has passed or is about to pass every moment now. China is allmost superpower ( and will certainly be a superpower within a decade ), so you can't fool anyone with that story anymore. And frankly, no need for that anyway.
I agree that still isn't the time for full blown confrontation with the US ( from Chinese perspective ), but in a decade or so, it will. And everybody knows that.
At the end, those who are against China ( Japan, India, Vietnam etc. ) will be on US side, not because they like them, but because it's in their interest. Same thing for those on Chinese side.

Meanwhile, China can play "good superpower" role ( superpower that don't makes invasions of other countries, don't steals their oil, superpower that helps poor countries in Africa etc. ). That should be enough.

yep looks like a 48 aft cell grid in the same layout as forward, an extra row would be a real tight fit.

Did some enhancements using paint. The aft cell area looks a bit bigger. Anyone see anything wrong with this? Would it be big enough to hold another row of vls cells?

got an idea: would you be able to somehow use the dimensions of the forward VLS array, and project them if you know what I'm saying?

LOL but I abandoned this idea myself after Yesterday at 7:26 AM

noticed where the aft VLS array ended:

and said
"There is therefore almost no doubt that the Type 055 has only 112 silos, as we have already suggested during the launching of the first building dating from 28 June last."
