They weren't condescending. They were obviously fearful.

Condescending is when you say, "That's a veerrrrry good job, you guys. Clap clap. Hope to see you finally playing with us in the big leagues soon, if you can make it. You'll need all the luck you can get." And I didn't see any of that.

Fearful is when you make cheap jokes with a cold sweat like what I saw: "Hey, clean up your air. Did that jet make all the smog? Copied technology flown by monkeys. Stop stealing from the West. Hope it crashes and we see dead bodies everywhere. Do you sell Louiz Wuitton on the flight and show pirated movies? If it keeps taxiing, they should just call it a bus."

Those were all the comments I actually saw and they all reeked of fear and insecurity. Made me feel
