Thanks Blitzo...for those reminders.;)

The Chinese Navy isn't the US Navy, they don't gift us with clear press releases and pictures from early development to commissioning.

So true...and if the PLAN told us nearly everything they did..well honestly it would be no fun being a PLAN watcher! The fun is the intelligent guessing!

Don't make the same mistake again for 075.

Mistake? what mistake? My dad use to say.."Nobody is always right and nobody is always wrong".

So if the rumoured Type 075 LHD is going to emerge one day from modules assembled in a dry dock, which of the many differing 'Fan-boy' art designs do we imagine to be the most likely? Or put more simply, 'does anyone know what the Type 075 LHD will look like?'

I don't know what design is the closet to what the PLAN will actually build.

This design from 2011 borrows heavily from the USS Makin Island. Why would she need three bow anchors?? However I do like this design.

This design first appeared last month..I posted this in the CG thread on 24 March 2017;

The latest on "The famous 075 PLAN LHA" CG....We've been seeing CGs on the 075 for about 10 years....will we ever see real ship put to sea??

In this design the stem anchor would drop straight down onto the bulbous forefoot. So you know this is inexpert fan art.

This is the best one IMO.
I'm not a fan of the tall skinny Mistral type ship. When I was in a helicopter landing on a carrier I liked as much deck beneath me as I could find! If I was a betting man I'd go for the design marked as the 075B, the one with the pyramid mast.
I think all these three designs are pure speculation - I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what emerges.

Let's put it this way -- respect the rumours, and don't write them off as "fanboy dreams".

In the case of 075, it definitely is real, and we've reached a stage in the rumours where its appearance is virtually imminent to be expected in the next year or so.

This statement doesn't really make sense given each landing spot would be a standard size regardless of the particular geometry of the flight deck design. And if a pilot needs more landing space than what the deck of an LHD offers, that pilot should find another career.

that's a CGI for the 22k ton export LHD, which despite being a quite accurate and realistic CGI, is likely not representative of the 075 LHD.
I'm quite aware that this is a 22K export model. My comment is regarding its design features, not whether it represents the actual 075. I'm pretty sure none of these CGIs represent the actual 075.
