That is why THAADS is employed.
To Date North Korea are able to employ across The Koreas but there is no evidence of the miniaturization required for Nuclear armed ballistic missiles and there longer range ones are very visible using full towers is why the US placed the Now the Mobile Erectors can do a lot of damage, they are the biggest threat. but again non nuclear.
Chemical weapons threat is solid. The North Koreans have we now know Sarin, Chlorine, Mustard and Likely a binary VX ( used on Kim Jong Nam). Biological is harder to quantify the effects take longer to affect it more of a scorched earth thing.
If I really wanted to get the North Korean attention I evacuate Seoul of course right now If I was in the Blue house I think I would be busy with other issues

THAAD, that's it? DPRK is still shooting off missiles, and it shows no sign of stopping, THAAD or no THAAD.

Evacuate an industrial/high-tech/financial hub of 14 million people and tanking ROK's economy for the year and more, just for a dog and pony show? How's that remotely realistic?

You don't know much about An Evacuation drill do you?
Evacuation drills are also Brinksmanship you make the other guy realize that you have less to loose then he does.

You don't understand the DPRK has little to lose do you? Brinksmanship doesn't work when Kim's goal is to stay in power at all cost, and he saw what happened to Gaddafi when he cooperated. Brinksmanship... give me a break. The only brinksmanship you'll see is US going back to the table with the North Koreans, and more on Kim Jong-un's liking than not.

A former Marine aviator and investment banker is the top pick to be the next nominee for Secretary of the Navy, three defense officials familiar with the decision confirmed to USNI News today.

Richard V. Spencer is set to be nominated for the top civilian job leading the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps, in a decision endorsed by Secretary of Defense James Mattis, the officials confirmed.

Spencer’s expected nomination is the second for the position,

Newswire Bloomberg reported Trump offered Spencer the job on Thursday.

Spencer, who lives in Wyoming, served as Marine aviator from 1976, after graduating from Rollins College, until 1981,

, where he serves on their advisory board. He left the service as a Captain in 1981. Spencer served as the chief financial officer and vice chairman of the electronic commodities futures exchange Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. until 2008. He’s currently the managing director of Fall Creek Management, LLC.

In December Spencer was appointed to be an executive advisor to the Chief of Naval Operations, a Navy official told USNI News. In that role, he advises CNO on future warfare and how to reach out to technology business leaders.

“Spencer is an impressive personality, knows defense issues very well, and has a strong reputation as a leader and a manager,” CNAS executive vice president Shawn Brimley told USNI News on Thursday.
“He would be a strong candidate for any number of Pentagon positions.”

Spencer also served on the Pentagon’s Defense Business Board from 2009 to 2015 and on the CNO’s Executive Panel.

Also under consideration for the position was former congressman Randy Forbes, who met with Mattis this week to discuss the position at the behest of Vice President Mike Pence, two administration officials familiar with the meeting told USNI News.

replacement program, looking at the RFP as a setback rather than a solution.

“There is no good news,” Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama told reporters on Capitol Hill on Wednesday. “The Air Force is still not moving forward. They’re talking about sending another request for proposal. It’s just such a disappointment.”

The Air Force is planning the second RFP draft after feedback from possible bidders that they couldn’t meet the original threshold requirements, an Air Force official told Military.com last month. The service still plans to award the contract in fiscal 2018, with the first operational helicopter delivery in the fiscal 2020-2021 timeframe.

While the Air Force said it will not “lower the threshold” of base requirements, the official would not specify what requirements defense companies struggled with when constructing their proposal offers.

“The UH-1N fleet supports five commands and numerous missions, including [Intercontinental Ballistic Missile] security support and [National Capital Region] continuity of government/operations, operational support airlift, aircrew training/support, and test support,” Air Force spokesman Capt. Michael Hertzog said Feb. 17.

“These are nuclear weapons that have to be safeguarded,” said Rogers, who sits on the House Armed Services Committee.

He is concerned about having outdated aircraft — some of which entered the Air Force’s inventory in 1970 — protecting nuclear missile bases.

Last year, 17 lawmakers urged the House Armed Services Committee to include language in the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act that would mandate the Air Force purchase

.

Responding to that measure, Rogers said he is still pressing the service to use the Army’s Black Hawks, “but the Air Force is just certain they’re going to be sued” if there’s no competition “so they’re just not going to do anything” in the meantime.

“I just think it’s irresponsible,” he said.

it will offer an MH-139 helicopter variant, based on Leonardo-Finmeccanica’s AgustaWestland AW139, for the RFP, anticipated in April.

Boeing’s offer is a 15-seat, medium-sized multi-role helicopter with twin engines. More than 250 of the aircraft have been assembled and delivered from its Philadelphia plant, the company said.

Boeing will be the second defense aerospace company to enter the service’s UH-1N replacement bid. Sikorsky — previously owned by United Technologies Corp. before Lockheed acquired the helicopter company in 2015 —

a semi-modified HH-60U as the new Huey.

The Air Force already has three HH-60U Black Hawks in its inventory, which pilots and special mission aviators began flying in 2011.

The service hopes to buy 84 UH-1N replacement aircraft to protect its nuclear missile bases.

Problem with your scenario is Seoul, ROK's capital of 14 million people and hundreds of Americans, is within the range of thousands of conventional artillery (some of the museum pieces you spoke of). So, the question Trump has to answer is how many American and ROK civilian casualties he's willing to trade for strikes on DPRK that may or may not achieve mission objectives. That's not even considering Beijing's reaction or overreaction to aggressive US military moves on the DPRK.
Seoul is close yes but to 40 km out of range of NK guns except SPG Koksan M-1978 170 mm , museum weapons yes but a big qty BTW for a strike NK as Iraq in 1990's don' t answer normaly.

For ONU clear all the launching are in fact illegals

Resolution 1718 prohibits North Korea from conducting future nuclear tests or launching a ballistic missile

So now any time a new resolution can be decided.

In addition THAAD is not a problem for neighbours China, Russia with a range of 200 kms can't destroy a missile of these countries in their airspace, after if they are thread completely normal could destroy a missiles on a aarea of about 200 + kms from Osan or one site more in center, from Osan THAAD - based there ? - can't defend Pusan, 280 km.

China have concern for radar range but possible an excuse...

Russian have only in this area 1 Iskander Brigade, 12 TELs ofc all ICBMs are in interior The sites are distributed following the trans-Siberian in Siberia no sites in Far East.

In more Patriot Pac-2/3 Bns with 24 TELs in 4 batteries use 2 types coz Pac-2 provide LR defense 160 kms , Pac-3 more small shorter range 30 - 40 kms ABM , Pac-2 have some capacity but in fact few efficient Army have 15 Bns so 360 lauchers in combat units.

In Asia US Army have to Osan 2 Patriot Bns and one other to Kadena in addition 7th Fleet have 6 ABM CGs/DDGs.
Army have also big GBI 33 + 15 in order.

SK have 48 Patriot Pac-2 formers German have replaced Nike Herkules soon morderised in Pac-3, 6 batteries 2 Bns

Japan have 120 Patriots in 6 AF Bns 4 of these Bns have Pac-3 in more 4 soon 6 ABM DDGs
Army have Type 3 Chū-SAM replace Hawk but MR 50 km and not ABM.
