So it seems that the entire mock superstructure in Wuhan may not be representative of the Type 002 island. They're building the actual on top of the base of the previous island?

Yep, that's been my thought as well (stated quite a few times over the last week lol) -- I think the Wuhan mock up and the island in particular will probably end up resembling a "franken-island" where it ends up featuring many small characteristics of the carrier's islands it is looking to replicate, but where the entire island will probably never fully be 100% representative in the way that the original island mock up was representative for Liaoning.

I'll be happy just to see the island structure that they have on the side of the dock right now landed onto the carrier deck.

Could happen any day...it's right there!

Here's to hoping it is this week some time.

I got some rares to.
First edition Tirpitz 1/350 from tamiya
Kortenaer frigate 1/350 from revell
Karel doorman carrier 1/550 csnt remember maker but its a remodel from arromaches.

I used to draw for shipbucket.com till i was permabanned (what an adhd snutchild i was back in the days...)(gollevainen is from there to)

Are you also on modelwarships.com?
