Small batch seems...

What is the normal size of a Flanker batch
good question ;)

J-15 will be built in batches like the other Flanker versions. What is the normal size of a Flanker batch en how many are needed for a ship and those used for training, in maintenance &c.?
24 for each CV/CAW combat capable not proto, normaly pre series sometimes can be adapted depends ; so 48 for CAW, 2 Rgts with 2 Sqns and normaly 1 Small training Rgt/Sqn with 12 him can have some pre series, needs 60.

I add for production from Huitong :
7 proto and 17 series or with pre series* ? since end 2013 - 06/2016 , 17 in 2.5 years then 7 by year, few.

Needs 60 - 17* max : is missing minimum 43 and they have the number with actual production for 6/7 years in 2022/23, 3/4 years ! after the 2nd CV is ready...

In more for 2 CAW i have yet pointed the insufficient number of ASW helos ; for Ka-31 AEW they have 9 for 2 CAW good.

But get a CAW with a STOBAR CV much more less capable that US coz weapons load very limited for A2G missions from several sources i get max 2/2.5 t few ! no AEW aicrafts much more capable than Ka-31 ... in fact mainly a defensive mobile air base especialy for protect the fleet with CAP also a capacity vs ships with AShM.

Remains interesting ofc but much less capable as a US CVN mainly defensive than offensive in fact.

If anyone can confirmed number of J-15 proto, pre series and series please.

Seems Chinese have few number in reserve, for attrition, turn over/maintenance but Rgt with an enough big number of fighters, Western Air Services have in general 10/20 % ( about 80/90 % in front line, training, test units ) depends Air Service/Countries and types.

When I said Flanker batches I meant the normal production batches of J-11B and J-16 as these will be the same or very nearly the same as the production batches of J-15. If there is just one production facility this will have to divide its attention to all three types, if J-11B or perhaps a successor is still being produced. Another way of looking at it is: what is the yearly production count of Flankers and how are these likely to be distributed over the several types. It might well be that a new production facility has been built for J-16 and J-15 production and that the old J-11B plant is or has been modernized. Deino?

And yes plant production is split between different types and since enough long time no new J-11 Rgt hmmm....
This plant have build 24 J-11 by year, 2009/2012 sure.

For J-16 as always mysterious... one Rgt equiped, 50 or more build ??

If production is split with as many J-16 as J-15 batches that would give 12 of each, on average, per year. But perhaps a new version of J-16 is being prepared while several J-15 batches are being built. They are juggling with these production decisions while we will remain in the dark.
