U.S. ships from the Boxer and Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Groups sail with the Dokdo Amphibious Ready Group from the Republic of Korea as part of Exercise Ssang Yong 16, March 8, 2016.

EAST SEA (March 8, 2016) U.S. ships from the Boxer and Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Groups are underway with the Dokdo Amphibious Ready Group from the Republic of Korea during Ssang Yong 2016. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps team are committed to the ROK-U.S. Alliance and conduct exercises regularly to ensure interoperability and maintain strong working relationships to support the sovereignty of the Republic of Korea. Ssang Yong familiarizes American armed forces with the Korean peninsula and builds upon the strong preexisting relationship between the two militaries

Naval Today said:
Having completed their South China Sea patrol, sailors and ships from the U.S. Navy’s John C. Stennis Strike Group arrived in the Republic of Korea (ROK) for a scheduled port visit March 13.

Pictures and Video: Last Operational Catapult Launch for French Navy Super Etendard Modernisé Fighter

The French Navy (Marine Nationale) released a video showing the last operational catapult launch for the Super Etendard Modernisé (SEM) from aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. The event which took place March 16 2016 as Charles de Gaulle was coming back to Toulon naval base from its deployment in the Middle East marks the end of an era for the SEM.

As per tradition to bid farewell, a large part of the Charles de Gaulle crew gathered on the flight deck and the catapult officer launched the last SEM with a saber in his right hand.
