Firstly, we need to appreciate that birds vary massively in size. An engine eating a sparrow is not even in the same ball park as the same engine sucking in a seagull.

Given that this was a naval fighter, and the reported location of the crash, I think chances are good that it eat a seabird. Seabirds are generally larger than their land based cousins, making them far more dangerous to engines.........

The investigation report said the bird that got sucked into the engine was 1.0 to 1.3 Kg. They stated it was a duck ( a green head duck - translated directly by its Chinese name).

If you don't like it the don't read it it is as simple as that As long as they keep it civil conversation and not overdrawn then let it be

I find it very annoying that the moderator keep deleting post that is not to their liking or doesn't conform to their prejudice or weltanschaung. This forum is become the sounding board of and ideology exactly what they accused some of us in here. At least Popeye is even handed! and only act when it become nuisance by deleting ALL the post not only certain post that is not to their liking Here is the catch "China can't make good engine and has to rely on the Russian"

The problem is that deducting reliability figures of the J-10 by debating and comparing issues of a twin engine Flanker-series type vs. a single engine J-10A makes nearly as much sense as forecasting the weather in April 2017 ! ... especially if several kind announces were made and a special tread on this issue already exist !

As such I'm really a bit annoyed by such posts.
