Well, given how Egypt just bought the two Vladivostok/Mistral class LPDs that were originally built for Russia, and how it has been announced that Egypt will outfit those two vessels with the navalized Ka-52 helicopters from Russia to the tune of about $1 billion dollars...I think those financial ties to Russia seem to still be in pretty good shape.

Russia set up a military coordination centre with Egypt just as it did with Syria in Damascus, with Iraq, Syria and Iran in Baghdad and with Jordan in Amman. It seems Saudi Arabia is still paying for Egyptian military purchases so Pakistan and China might also still sell equipment to Egypt.
