I am not an expert on anti insurgency or terrorism, but why is everyone kept shooting at the building. Given that they are not really fighting a war and can easily secure the perimeter of the building, why don't they have each soldier secure their aim at each window and have an anti-terror team enter the building? Are they worried about booby traps. (Again, I have not followed on news in regarding to Chechnya)

On the second video at around 0.22. Is that an add-on GPS?

Chechen terrorists are notorious for their use of booby traps and suicide vest/belts, especially on suicide missions like this one.

It may look unprofessional and a waste of ammo, but I'm willing to bet those are tactics the Russians learnt and refined at great cost in lives over the decades fighting Chechen rebels.

Better to make sure the bad guys are all dead before you go in yourself. And if a stray bullet sets off an IED, well, that's a lot better than you setting it off by stepping on the trip wire.

Hahahahaha. Clearly you have never served a day in the armed forces. This is as professional as it looks. The officer that suggests a dynamic entry when you have the enemy cornered in a building will get hooked in the jaw by the staff sergeant.

I can shoot at a building for days! We'll have lunch then go back to shooting it. I'm supprised they didn't knock down all the first floor walls and collapse the whole building. Just to be sure.
