No problem.. it cost me zero..
She got a full boat scholarship because she's brainy..plus having an 4.1 GPA since the 5th grade helps. Also she's recieved numerous grants starting on the day she graduated from HS. She's blessed.

And here I thought GPA was out of 4...
Going to be graduating next year myself from University of Waterloo ^___^ YAY for potential summer vacation after almost 5 years of constant study + coop.
Yep, I had friends with 4.5 GPAs, but I came from a super competitive high school, so having a high GPA didn't distinguish you. I had friends with better GPAs and SAT scores who didn't get into Berkeley, or an equivalent school (and of course, there were the ones who got into MIT and Harvard and the likes).

that is so hardcore... getting more GPA than maximum that is.
It's no big deal. At some point the pursuit of ever bigger numbers in high school come at the cost of meaning and purpose, and intangible skills like creativity and leadership. I presume bd's kid was not that case though. Sometimes people are just gifted.
