IMO, given how high the submarine rides above water as most of the propulsor is visible, it is quite likely that this submarine is double hulled.

Not sure about that. 095 rides pretty high when new launched as well:

There as been many tenders that we know now is associated with this submarine. To my knowledge it goes back atleast till early last year, all of those were actually initially thought to be for the Type 041 back then as most people expected continued production of that type and associated tenders that mentions nuclear equipment to it (Likely also confirms it being nuclear).

Looking back the hints for this thing has been in front of us the entire time, we just misidentified it as Type 041.

How does a submarine prevent rolling without a sail? Esp when turning, it is easy to imagine that the submarine might roll without a rather heavy ballast or perhaps actively managed ballast (i.e. pumping between compartments to compensate) but that might be rather loud.

Could be a drone carrier like Russian "Khabarovsk" or carrier for small special purpose subs like "Belgorod".

nuclear-powered deep-water work station aka UUV mothership? This explains why it's so long and slender but doesn't seem to have VLS. We should now consider measuring how many HSU100s and AJX002s it can carry.

I remember Sutton estimated the AJX002's range to be more than 1000 nautical miles. If our crazy mission objective is a blockade of ports in the Pacific, this could be one of the delivery vehicles for the AJX002.

I probably would caution on the extent of the "sailless" aspect and also the diameter (ie it may or may not be wider than reported). But its early days and the imagery leaves some room for interpretation, as usual.

As for the Bohai hull, the shape in the image shared here seems odd (in particular the seeming missile hump), but I keep reaching out to people to clarify. I dont have the cash or the day-job to order my own imagery, so rely on others in that regard.

It doesn't seem to have a l/d ratio of 12, unlike the initial illustration suggested. It also seems to have a small sail for periscopes. I was on special mission sub opinion. But this photo changes things.

In that case, what's your view on its dimension?
