I suspect that the evolution of floating out the launching barge, submerging it, opening the gates, bringing in a sub from outside for refit, then floating the barge underneath it; would take considerably longer than simply rolling out a new sub, putting it on the barge and then launching it into the already flooded drydock. As we know the barge was docked on 27th May, this lends weight to this being a new boat rather than an existing one in for work.

Furthermore, it seems that most refit work is being done on the old Western side (we saw an 094 going into the hall there quite recently).

Where this leaves us regarding hull count I am not sure. Some of what we classed as new launches may well have been existing boats in for work, OTOH we surely missed some launches due to extended cloud cover or simply timing between Sentinel passes (I think this includes at least 1 x 094B).

It appears that a submarine has been seen at the drydock at Huludao's east site, with a length of ~111 meters. No idea on whether this boat is newly built or just came in for maintenance, and no idea if this boat belongs to the 093 family or the 095 family.

To be fair, @para80 has shared more than plenty.

Assuming the ~111 meters figure is accurate, then we aren't looking at a SSBN. Too short.

Likewise, ~111 meters is likely a little too long for the long rumored "SSKN."

So if this hull isn't a Type 093 or 095, then we're looking at something completely new to the public.

Guessing a full blown SSGN, some sort of "special mission" boat, or something else interesting . . . :p

so what are the guesses on why on both are made ? aren't the sailless competeing desing in practice ?

What do you mean "competing"?

Are you asking if the JN and Bohai sailless/small sail submarines are competing with each other (i.e. that the two are of different designs and in a competition or something)?

Or are you asking if the sailless/small sail submarine overall is competing with 09V or something?

Holy moly. This sailess one is the same one referred to being seen at Huludao couple of days ago, or is it yet another one? At any rate, this is even more revolutionary than the launch of the 095.
