Can someone explain why the PRC leadership allows Apple to generate such enormous profits in China when there appears to be little to no direct benefit in return, especially while Chinese companies are denied comparable access to US markets? What is the underlying strategy here? Is this a deliberate long-term policy, a pragmatic economic calculation, or simply institutional inertia?

If Chinese firms like Huawei and others have faced years of restrictions, bans, and political pressure from the US government and its establishment, wouldn’t it make more strategic sense for China to respond in kind by removing Apple from the Chinese market rather than continuing to give it such lucrative access?

The strategy here is to take Taiwan back soon, and then strengthen the control on Apple supply chain worldwide.

Bro, Apple is just a company. Sunzi said," The art of war is of vital importance to the State. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected." The timetable to take Taiwan back can't be affected by just a phone company.

But, if we ban Apple, these original users will choose to purchase the HK version of iPhone rather than switch to Huawei.

There should be a ban on Indian made Apple products, rather than allow them to shift supply chain to India smoothly and then re-export Apple products to China. HK version of the iPhone will require an import tax. They can even impose restrictions with activation on Chinese telecom network. Apple products are just goods examples of the yankees plan of shifting supply chain from China.

Taiwan should be taken back when Taiwan Semi still has the leverage on chips manufacturing. It is not just Apple. If you think about AMD, nvidia and many others. We are talking about many companies than Taiwan has leverage advantage.

Competition is good for chinese companies. If they have the chinese market themselves they wouldnt spend as much on r&d and not be as competetive w apple. if they cant even beat apple in china, they will for sure lose global market anyway
