Recently, He Lin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, disclosed to the media that after years of technological research and development, he and his team have made a major breakthrough in the active noise reduction control technology for submarines. "It is expected that by around 2025, the noise of China's nuclear submarines will be significantly reduced and their performance will reach world-class levels." Public information shows that Academician He Lin's main research direction is vibration isolation and noise reduction for submarines, so the technologies he mainly introduces are in this area. However, what Academician He said that by 2025, the performance of China's nuclear submarines will reach world-class levels encompasses far more than just active noise reduction technology.

Looking back, neither Project 095 nor Project 096 was delayed in terms of the time nodes

Claimed to be a satellite imagery of the 095 SSN by Captain on Weibo. The photo is obviously doctored with effects (and note that what looks like the vertical fin at the stern end of the sub is actually not parallel to the sub's longitudinal axis).

However, I would remain sceptical of this photo's authenticity for the time being. Confirmed to match the actual photos seen by @para80 and Naval News.

I have 30cm coming - I won't be sharing the actual image, but will be able to describe what I see.

A bit off topic, but is cost the reason why the images cannot be published? In other words, you were permitted to view them, but you do not hold the rights to publish them?
Correct. Happens more often than one thinks, but if I ever breach their confidence, the supply dries up, obviously.

edit: ACuriousPLAFan (I suck at multiquotes and edits) - this image is authentic. Heavily edited as you say, but it matches one of the pictures I saw.

Probably this is a PLAN sub milestone as the 6th gens were for PLAAF. Looking a bit ahead, if they will start pumping 095s at the rate we observed for the latest 093Bs, a highly significant number of boats might be in the water even by the end of this decade, would this be a reasonable assessment?

Here is another one, courtesy of a Twitter friend, originally via Weibo.
The crude Paint outlines are mine, red the sail, green the presumed VLS, blue the X tail. The image was taken at an angle, hence the curious proportions. Also I am clearly not HI Sutton with Paint.

Huh, the sail's position is kinda interesting - Looks to be farther back from the bow than the 093B SSNs.
