Surprisingly, the Fujian is a potential mass-produced model.
玉渊谭天, a Weibo account of CCTV, interviewed the Fujian's development team. After its official commissioning, Tan Tian shared 10 key pieces of information:

1. The Fujian's inevitable deployment areas after commissioning include the Taiwan Strait, the South China Sea, and the Western Pacific.

2. The biggest difference after commissioning is its combat readiness.

3. For the Liaoning and Shandong, the Western Pacific is considered the open sea, but not for the Fujian.

4. The Fujian's "open sea" defense capabilities need to be developed in the Eastern Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Atlantic Ocean, such as the waters near Guam, Hawaii, or Australia.

5. The Chinese Navy has the right to navigate in the Indian Ocean and other areas, in accordance with international law and practice, and no country has the right to interfere.

6. For the same deployment distance, the Fujian can be deployed for a longer period due to its improved performance. This improvement is substantial.

7. The Fujian's commissioning is only the first step in our routine deployment of aircraft carriers. 8. The "001," "002," and "003" aircraft carriers we mentioned are not serial numbers, but model designations. The Type 003 can be considered a mature "platform." Following our previous practice in warship production, after some optimization and improvements on a mature platform, it enters the "mass production" stage.

9. With the commissioning of the Fujian, electromagnetic catapults and multiple types of carrier-based aircraft have become standard features of aircraft carriers. At the same time, the system of accompanying ships in carrier strike groups is gradually taking shape.

I always found it funny some people think China's building multiple supercarriers just to once again deal with the first or second island chain.

Feel bad for sailors and officers who will get sugar coma and even diabetes from such ration. Way too much carbs and sugar for military operations that require much more brain power (sharp attention to detail on radar screens and sensors and make sure you don’t press the wrong button or give out wrong orders) than physical strength. Also, too much sugar makes people fart. Imagine sitting on the bridge or in one of those crowded sailors’ cabins.

Way too much carbs and sugar for military operations that require much more brain power (sharp attention to detail on radar screens and sensors and make sure you don’t press the wrong button or give out wrong orders) than physical strength. Also, too much sugar makes people fart. Imagine sitting on the bridge or in one of those crowded sailors’ cabins.

I’m pretty sure you’d rather be mixing protein shakes than cocktails at a party

The "Big Boss "is coming over for lunch...I for one am not serving him leftovers or "iron rations" He is going to be eating very good.Although I am not sure what culinary regions are served but north,south,east ,west it's all so good and pleasant to have a mixed cuisine.

This talk of food, if i recall my conscript days, when big honchos come the cooks of course go out of their way (i'm sure on order from the local "medium" honchos) to serve stuff you didn't even know they have. So yeah i would think after the big bossman visit and all that luxury hotel food, Fujian's chow will get back to a rather more monotonous, rather more bland (but still plenty sufficient for crew's needs) routine. Isn't it the same in pretty much all militaries?

Foodywise,even basic Chinese home cooking from whatever region/province is so good that I can't even imagine one getting bored with the great cuisine available-and I am not talking about Imperial Banquet -just good local cooking and the style/variety of dishes is amazing.Good meals are essential to morale onboard sip(and these chefs are trained!) and did you guys notice the chicken wings/beef BBQ setup in SZ20/SZ21 ?Even the snobby French say that there are 2 greatest cuisines in the world-French and Chinese. If I had to eat say the British "cuisine" onboard a ship-I would rather you shoot me now.

They don't do ration on PLA aircraft carriers. There has been many video and articles on mess (aka canteens) in Liaoning and Shandong in the past. They have several messes, including one for Muslims, on board to serve the crew of more than a thousand personnels.

They have food cooked in the style of Noth, South, Sichuan spicy etc, and also western style pastry etc. Sailors can choose what they want to eat buffet style.

Unlike the old days of type 051/053, Foods on the ships have improved a lot.
