And this kids is why you should do homework.

When you're both the world's largest ship builder and world's largest trading nation, an exemption on your own ships is sometimes all you need to f* everyone else.

Netherlands should not underestimate China's resolve, capability to protect its rights: Global Times editorial
By Global TimesPublished: Oct 14, 2025 01:26 AM

The Dutch government's actions against Nexperia are extremely egregious, going far beyond normal commercial regulation and carrying blatant political coercion and discriminatory overtones. Such move using unfounded so-called "security allegations" as a pretext to restrict the rights of legitimate shareholders violates the principles of a market economy and fair competition, and runs counter to the international trade rules that the EU has consistently advocated.
This not only harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies but also undermines international investors' confidence in the EU market. This should not be seen as a dispute between the Dutch government and a Chinese company - it is a blatant trampling of international rules by Netherlands, and the international community cannot tolerate such predatory actions disguised under the cloak of law or security against multinational enterprises
Many observers believe that the US' extreme suppression of Chinese enterprises and its over-securitization practices have sparked widespread concern across the world, while also providing a negative example and external support for the Netherlands' recent intervention in Nexperia. In response, on Monday, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that China opposes overstretching the concept of national security and taking discriminatory moves that target companies from certain countries, and China is firmly resolved in defending its own legitimate and lawful rights and interests.
The country's counter-sanctions legal framework, anchored in laws such as the Anti-Foreign Sanctions Law of the People's Republic of China, provides strong protection for the lawful rights of Chinese enterprises. No party should underestimate China's firm resolve and full capability to defend its own interests.
In the early stages of capitalism, some countries relied on violence and colonial plunder to accumulate primitive capital, even fostering within their own cultures the misguided historical notion that "plunder brings wealth." In today's geopolitical context, the Dutch government, under the pretext of "supply chain security," has imposed excessive interference on Chinese enterprises and then cloaked its asset seizure under a façade of legality - a seamless sequence of actions that inevitably evokes memories of certain dark chapters in this country's history. It is no wonder that some have wryly observed that a few Western countries now treat "national security" as a privateering license, a reflection of "colonial genes" awakening in the 21st century.
The Nexperia case exemplifies this trend vividly. As China's technological and commercial strength continues to grow, such "robbery in legal disguise" is likely to recur.

Now that is a good response.
I was scared china was gonna let it go.
I have to say, CPC know when to hit back and when to hit back hard. Eg. Rare earths, Panama canal port etc.

I'm not worried about Nexperia. If the Dutch won't play ball, china will have many levers. I am sure if it is important enough china will squeeze the Dutch
What is funny is it seems there isn't a single shipping co with > 25% US ownership. DHT (A crude oil tanker company) just added a Norwegian to the board today to get the US board % under 25%

yet abusive as it may be, i think the eu has no choice. they will continue to work for the us to the very end, because ww2 really was a creation story. the west europe of today is a creation of the united states.
when the western european honors their liberation from nazi germany, they are honoring the notion that their lives are owned by the americans, without whom they would be lost to oblivion and eternal damnation.
the slave-sidekick is a grand western tradition, from han solo's chewbacca to monte cristo's ali:

"His life, madame, belongs not to him; it is mine, in return for my having saved him from death."

American power is multi dimensional. see these Europeans standing behind Trump and Trump reminding them American fighters. This conference was held in Arab country based on Trump schedule and every one including Canadian present there.
The question arises why Trump has to repeatedly remind them who is the boss because European thinks they are sovereign and they can fight Russia with help of Ukraine thats why they have less need for America but Europeans dont know that Its Putin that is extending the fight and nothing to do with Europe. Europe will be further squeezed if Russia manages to build Civil airline industry on Arab standards.

Not really. The EU and US were together under Biden. That failed, so Trump's anger caused him to attack the EU. That failed too, so now what can they do? Try to be together again? LOL Been there, done that; try something new! It's an abusive relationship:

1. Joker and Harley work together against Batman.
2. Both beaten, go to jail.
3. Joker slaps Harley and gives her a black eye.
4. Joker escapes, attacks Batman by himself. Ends up in hospital section of jail.
5. Both escape, Joker gets together again with Harley because they'll be just "so much more powerful together!" Now Bats is in trouble!
6. Repeat cycle from step 1.
All im hearing is that Batman could just replace the joker and force Harley Quinn to be his slave, that China could just replace the U.S. and force the EU into a slavish subordinate role, much as the European Rus’ paid tribute to the great Khan, where the grand prince of Muscovy fed the great khans horse with grain from his hat after hearing news of the destruction of the Kievan Rus. Barbarians do not respect civility and grace, they respect only power and violence.
I would say it’s even more explicit. The NSA and CIA made all the EU leaders, and they can unmake them as well just as easily.

You can be a literal saint or Jesus reborn and still they can easily remove you from office with invented stories and fabricated allegations from lying ‘victims’. If that doesn’t work, they can eliminate you in all manner of ways from suicide to accidents to ‘natural’ causes or even a snipers bullet.

Who are you going to ask to protect you? Your own national intelligence agency? Who do you think the CIA is going to outsource the wet work to in the first place?

Hell, these days the CIA doesn’t even need to wait until you are in power to terminate you. Look at all the candidates that have died of mysterious reasons in German recently.

The EU is a lost cause. There is no hope of them acting in their own self interest. The only thing China can do is plan how to take them out most efficiently.
china still has friends within Europe, Spain and Greece and Hungary for example. See what they can do, otherwise realpolitik would indicate they are all culpable as part of the EU.

Rare earths for military industrial complex, shipping, these are the the industries of the old elite of the west, where they make most of their money outside of real estate and the stock market. China is targeting the entire Atlanticist elite.

just like America sanctioning a country but giving its own companies a free pass.
Netherlands did all this just for a fraction of the non-China located production capacity of 3rd rate MOSFETs maker, lol
Thats the puzzling thing…unless they foresee a major conflict with China, war even. Why torpedo your own investment environment that can only be corrected with a major reset.

The CPC has become accustomed to running the country like a commercial retail market, a legacy rooted in the era of Dengist ideology (1978 – …). There is significant institutional inertia against changing this direction. I have observed a trend of inaction in response to foreign aggression since 2018. So it’s not surprising that we expect the worst: nothing. Based on the trends since 2018, our fear has been repeatedly justified.
