Speaking of mockups. I found images of what appears to be a mockup of a mask/superstructure of unknown design. No idea where they were taken. Does anyone have more context and information?

I was under the impression that those pics are also from the Wuhan test site. However, I could be wrong, as I can't identify at which entrance that would be.

Here are the two latest available images, though not much new can be seen. We'll have to wait for the next round of clear satellite images, though it seems that there's a complete clamp down on those until after the reactor compartment is finished.

I guess it's a good sign all this recent hush-hush. They wouldn't go to that trouble if this is some nuclear icebreaker or cargo ship(?) as some claim.

I don't think anyone actually believes this is a nuclear cargo ship or icebreaker. They are just being cautious because there is not yet definitive proof it's a carrier. However, most of the evidence suggests this is Type 004.

It seems the next carrier is pretty much going to be a CVN, the aft structure looks very odd and disconnected to be a actual part of the island.

Perhaps the speculation that it's just a support structure that's not gonna be a part of the actual carrier is correct.

Then again that second structure sure looks like a funnel. It even has that slight droop at the top level, which funnels usually have.
This is just a comment about looks, not about likelihood of anything.
