I read that US has stockpiled 6K LRASM.

Where on earth did you read such bullshit? You're off by an order of magnitude. LRASM Lot 1 entered production in 2017. Here are the official procurement documents from

which lay out the numbers acquired every fiscal year. Go through them and add them all up for a grand total of 1,321—as of FY2028. Right now as of FY2025, the total is a measly 577. And LRASM production rates only scheduled to hit 240 per year as of 2026, after nine years of ramping up.

I think people underestimate how expensive these cruise missile turbofan engines are. The fact the Russians can produce as many as they do is abnormal in the first place. I can only wonder at the price and production rate of such engines in the US.

Yeah, the US doesn't believe in building large quantities of missiles so claiming to have any significant stockpiles just doesn't pass the smell test. Raytheon's current AIM-120 production rate is anemic, and it's the most important missile in the American inventory. Everything else is probably going to get less priority.

It is actually JASSM. I knew I read it somewhere that mentioned about the total volume in the thousands.. There are so many missile that looked similar.

How many JASSM does the U.S. have?

AI Overview

JASSM / JASSM ER | Missile Threat

The United States has more than 3,600 JASSM-ER missiles, with a projected total procurement of 4,900 JASSM missiles in total, which includes planned increases to the total number of JASSMs and its variants, and the procurement of the extreme-range version of the missile. The Air Force is acquiring these missiles as rapidly as Lockheed Martin can produce them, with continued funding and production increases for the JASSM in the fiscal 2025 budget

Why are you citing AI slop when I literally gave you the primary source which indicates the procured total as of FY2028 is 12,323? With 10,687 as of FY2025. Also as already noted, JASSM is a land-attack missile compared the anti-ship LRASM. The latter costs about 3x as much as the former.

Why does China lack a JASSM or LRASM equivalent? That is, a very stealthy cruise missile that almost looks like a plane in terms of its wingspan. I am sure having such a big wing will be very useful in terms of achieving longer range.
