we do have our own. whatever the case now that a SG govt official called out a "Chinese" link group relations might turn for the worse. this sort of news is only going to give the anti-cn faction more power. local Singaporeans are already paranoid of a wave of mainlanders coming into their lands and ruining it, such news are only going to make things worse.
My issue with the CNA article is how one sided it is. It only quotes new York Times and Washington Post. It only quotes that the US is a victim. It never mentions how western actors, especially Israel, have done the same.

Never say anything about what china has also experienced or has to say. Very biased article. But then again I expect as much from CNA.

Taking taking US talking points as facts, while keeping China's reply silent.

What happened?

Being a former British colony, Singapore's working language is English, and western propaganda is strongest in that language.

A chunk of Singapore's native ethnic Chinese are bananas - barely able to write their names in Chinese, hold all things Chinese in contempt, have the stupid notion that Hong Kong and Taiwan are not China (though they generally don't care about western propaganda on Xinjiang and Xizang), usually belong to a particular religion.

The ironic issue with nukes is that once you have nuclear weapons...your country become a target because the other side will try to destroy the nukes before they can be used. So a lot investment which is even more than the nukes themselves goes into protect your nuclear deterrent. Build a lot of silos spreaded into a large area, a lot of investment in reinforced structures to protect the nukes in case of conventional bombing or even nuclear blast, road mobile missiles, stealth bombers and nuclear submarines. The investment is not cheap.
That is not counting the retaliation and seeing your cities obliterated. Let be real, Japan is too small and densely populated to survive a nuclear war.
