Yes China is a grave threat to the US and the West because it has manufacturing capabilities they can't compete with. It doesn't matter if it's with guns or a screwdriver, it's a threat to their control of everything and they have to do something drastically about it. They don't like it at all that they need China for something... for anything. But they think it's perfectly all right if the world was 100% dependent on them. They think they can convince the Chinese to volunteer to be their slaves as much as they think the world will follow them blindly into a war with China. They hate it that Chinese make just one cent out of every dollar when someone buys an iPhone. If it's not war, what the West expects will be essentially by definition... slavery. Of course the way they think something as simple as calling anything but slavery will make it not slavery and then no one has the right call them a criminal. They won't be making money from your labor directly. They'll just make you transfer the money you make to their bank account and it'll be nothing like what was done when West had slaves before. In their minds then it ain't it and perfectly okay to do.
