Yeah but reopening a line that has been shut down is going to cost a considerable amount besides aren't the same places manufacturing F-22s converted to build F-35s? Personally I think the greatest threat to the US military is not China or Russia or some terrorist but itself.

That's the greatest threat to any strong country, but external threats can exacerbate the internal threat.

The TV interview that "leaked" the story about the J-XX flying "soon" took place just after the US announcement about shutting down production of the F-22. The announcement about the Chinese moon program was made right after Obama cut the American version. The highly unusual Chinese "debate" about establishing naval bases on foreign soil took place just as the Americans were considering the matter of intervention in Yemen.

Something tells me the Chinese leadership doesn't exactly mind Richard Fisher types feeding American nervousness about China's technological and military development, particularly at a time when money is short in the US.

China is advancing fast and smart, J11B and J10B, China need to build a decent number to rival and surpass the number of american modern f-15s and f-16s out there, then factories base will be available to gradulally switch to the new fighter

When the 5th gen comes out, that will need to be produced in greater numbers than the F-22 and F-35, i dont think more than 600-1000 F-35s will bebuit for US airforce,

Ofcourse there are many other aircraft to be built to match the US, however i believe china's approach is working well

They're not gonna build as many as the U.S. does, they don't have the need.

US has long history of thtreat exaggeration or out right fantasy,CIA claim that 80's caspar weinberger knew all along that the soviet defense spending has gone down, but ignore the intelligent, and for the reagan era, pentagon went on to over spending $ 2 trillion ,(back then US deficit was $ 2 trillion).
giving the current national deficit , US simple can not afford it.

This was based off an American research article. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that this composite stealth technology was already implemented in the F-22 and it was being leaked because it was assumed to be obsolete.

It's also possible that it's a canard for radar stealth and for the Chinese to chase the technology would be a massive cash sink both in research and in implementation; I wouldn't be surprised if layering an aircraft with this type of RAM would cost tens of millions, explaining why the F-22 and F-35 are so incredibly expensive.

If you're talking about metamaterials, it's not just China and the US putting research to the concept. I highly doubt any of these countries see this research as implementable any time in the near future. China, like any other country, does the research so that it doesn't fall behind the curve.

No country has this technology currently implemented. The concept was only properly demonstrated on the nano scale in the last year or two. To even make stuff like this on a large scale we need huge advances in nanoscale manufacturing that could be decades off. And it's not a "composite material".

EDIT: I forgot to mention in this particular case the metamaterial in question doesn't even pertain to stealth. Note that the material doesn't bend the light to have a zero angle of incidence, which means you can see the light behind the object, but that it absorbs the light entirely so that the em radiation is trapped, which makes the object a "black hole".
