This could be the origin of the post re-posted by Alert5. The news from Intelligenceonline is dated at 4am GMT 26th May 2025. about 28 hours before Alert5's post.

Intelligenceonline has been around for 40 years with reasonable credibility. It quoted "42 J-10". It did not indicate new or second hand aircraft, nor did it specified that aircraft variant as in J10A or B or C.

The news also quote "If the contract is firmed up", indicating that there is no signed contract, yet.

However, the confirmation can only come from Indonesian government statement. So just keep this news as "To Be Verified".

Sounds fake, there's no news of this in Indonesia. Also the only surplus J-10 China has is J-10A with old radar and can't use PL-15 so its very unlikely for Indonesia to trade Rafale and F-15EX with J-10A and Su-35.

Cute Orca says there is an AESA upgrade for J-10As and also J-10A has better high-speed high-altitude performance compared to later J-10Cs. IMO it's not a bad idea for Indonesia to get used but upgraded J-10As for cheap instead of brand new aircrafts that will likely cost a fortune but still perform similarly for whatever they need them to do.

We've seen the air-cooled AESA on J-10A. Not sure how widely this has been adopted by PLAAF, but would certainly make the J-10A more interesting for potential buyers. Still with Russia AL-31 engine though.
