175 bn to be completed in 3 years is a very tall order and sounds like a Trump vanity project but the programs that come out of this are going to be revolutionary.
GD is a systems of systems architecture requiring many novel technologies: sensors, data links, C4I, micro nuclear reactors, to name a few.
I'm particularly interested in the space layer: FOBS KKV (Starshield-like kill vehicles) and

Interesting development for the Stinger missile. They have apparently managed to to build solid fuel ramjet version which has successfully flown. According to the article linked in the tweets, they hope to fly six more times in July with various mixtures of fuel.

The Stinger has been around for decades, so a new propulsion system could make it far more effective if range can be meaningfully increased. A couple of decades ago they were going to add the AIM 9X seeker along with other improvements to make a Block II variant. I wonder if something like is in the works now with potentially this new propulsion system?

Just to add some more information to this, SpaceX has put 1000 satellites into orbit so far THIS YEAR! Obviously that doesn't translate into Starsheild deployments, but they clearly have tremendous production capacity and upmass ability.
This area is probably where the US holds the biggest advantage. It would make sense for them to leverage this to maximum.

IMO, from the way I see it doesn't matter whether if Golden Shield holds any weight, but it signifies the opening of a new front in space and China would be foolish not to take maximum advantages of this and start building its space industry like its chip industry right now. China right now lags behind the US significantly in terms of launch capacity and should seek to double down on investments in launch vehicle technology and hopefully close the gap with in the next few years.

Golden dome is basically the opening salvo, its being narrated as a global defense system and alot of media and criticism is focused on that part, but thats all a red herring IMO. If you read between the lines where its mentioned that one of the goals is to neutralize a missile even before launch, that makes it clear that it is essentially a space based strike system.

In its first iteration, it doesnt need to cover the globe, it just needs to cover mainland CN and first island chain. Then the physics of it all suddenly become relatively more realistic.
