A bit more on the island mock-up, presumably that's how it's supposed to look like?

"Presumably" implies that we definitively know what it will look like.

What you've posted is an educated guess depiction of what the island could look like, which is fine but we won't know until we see the island completed with some pictures of it on the ground.

I see no reason to worry too much at this stage, just give it 6-12 months and by then we'll have a better understanding of its footprint and overall geometry.

What're the support beams for? So what's current construction status/stage?
Supposedly they are the support beams for the reinforced bow sidewalls:

What we know for sure:
- Judging by how long this has been in its current stage, it's extremely unlikely to be a civilian ship.

What is pretty much confirmed by credible sources:
- A carrier is being build in the Dalian construction yards.

What is speculated by more or less credible sources:
-It's a CVN.
-The construction in the picture is that CVN.

What is pure speculation/rumors at this point:
-There already are parts on location that confirm that it is a CVN, but those pictures and videos are yet to be circulated for safety reasons.

I am still not convinced even more so this is the bow since for an aircraft carrier it is not streamlined enough for high speed (and if so, it's too much to far on the end of the dock). Furthermore, it looks like the rear segment also has a bow, which would fit the hull shape better, but the whole thing is too short...

Is there anything else this could be? Long construction does indicate it to be a military ship, so if possibly not a carrier what else could it be? Another 076?

Major
Pro aircraft carrier members believe this is aircraft carrier
- based on rumours
- slow speed of dry dock activities which is very expensive in time costs.
- changes in test mock-up in Wuhan.

The con views are
- Keel block arrangements do not point to construction of fast speed hull, bear in mind that aircraft carriers can move beyond 40 knots according to unconfirmed statements from USN service personnel.
- the two existing 2 blocks seem to be meant for different ships.

The verdict is not out yet. I am sitting on the fence, enjoy the view.

There is a slim chance that a nuclear powered large ice breakers of 60-70 thousand tons displacement with similar beam width to aircraft carrier of over 40 metres, similar to 69,700 tons project 10510 ice breaker of Russia.

I too wondered if 075/076 was possible but thus far they're all made in Shanghai (Hudong-Zhonghua):

No. Both Jiangnan and Dalian haven't build any large-sized amphibious assault ships (LHDs and LPDs). Only Hudong-Zhonghua has been responsible for building all them so far.

So it seems unlikely. Things are proceeding very slowly, I would have thought we would know more by now. I guess the only thing we can do is keep waiting, there isn't enough solid evidence to confirm anything yet.
