This is from DG ISPR (Pakistan Army Spokesperson) press conference earlier today. This is from an ISR (fighter jet) platform that was tracking IAI Harop drone as it entered Pakistani Air Space. He mentioned that it has a very small RCS but we were still able to pick it up.

It isn't malfunction if I understand correctly. There's quite a lot of similar r-77-1 tails after proper explosion.

As long as weapons are used in actual combat, there is a risk of information leakage. Since they have been sold, the necessary precautions must have been taken, so there's no need to worry excessively.

Reverse engineering isn't that easy. Back when we recovered a dud Sparrow missile, tried our hardest but still couldn't reverse-engineer it - ended up purchasing Aspide missiles instead.

Is this a malfunction? The consensus I'm seeing from PLA watchers is that it did explode, but I am not knowledgeable enough with missiles to judge myself.
