If the deal in its original form was signed, it would've been a bad deal..........for America in the long run. It would've made Ukrainians resentful of America, and overtime push them towards Russia or China.

The modified deal is a much better one. Ukraine is now fully under U.S sphere of influence. Win for Ukraine cause thats also what they want.

Win for US, since US secured a host of advantages that goes beyond minerals, gas, oil, etc....

Shoot for the stars, land on the moon. Had Trump just asked for this deal from the onset, he might've received something less.

In the long term, this approach is a clear losing proposition...but you are still too young (250 years old) to understand it.

You cannot piss the world and think of yourself to be clever.

To understand this, just do the (apparently impossible) thought experiment of putting yourself in the shoes of the receiving end, call it Zelensky or China or European citizens (Brussels bureaucrats have been appointed by Biden admin and are just puppets), and then, from that point of view look at US and ask yourself a couple of questions.

US empire, like all other empires before, prospers as long as its "provinces" prosper too. If the empire starts to grossly take advantage of their provinces, this is the begin of the end. The route forward is all but drawn already. There are many historical examples of this.

No empire survives in the long term on a zero-sum game imposed on its vassal states.

The Ukrainians probably already despise Americans. They know or will eventually know this was all caused by the Americans, particularly Trump when started handing over Javelins to Ukraine in the first place. Also there is no "deal" as of yet, because there is still a conflict taking place and by the looks of it, poor Ukraine might end up being handed over to Trump as powdered cement, or worse taken by Russia in its entirety. The point is until this conflict is concluded, nobody is winning anything, and as of now, this win is the equivalent of renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

So first, you said that it was good that Ukraine pushed Trump and did not give him what he wanted because the old deal would have made Ukraine hate the US. Now you say there is nothing that the US can do to fuck up the Ukraine relationship LOL Slap yourself much?

By the way, the reason that Zelensky came back is not because the US and Ukraine have a good relationship, or that he respects Trump, or that Ukrainian people love the US. The reason he came back was because his whole country is currently dangling on a hook with a Russian shark eating chunks out of it. Make no mistake; they will remember forever the humiliation they suffered at the hands of the country they used to trust the most. That's the "relationship" now. And just like Trump, they know that all deals can be cancelled as soon as the president of a country changes.

Right, because that's ridiculous and insulting.

While the result was that the Russians wore down the EU LOL

America would have had preferential treatment buying anything from Ukraine without any threats at all. Donnie went for the kill, got slapped back by a piece of meat dangling on a hook.
No they won’t. They came back because they much rather be part of the West. They want to be like Poland. They want to join the EU. Etc….

Much rather as in, they don't want to be devoured by Russia. They still hate the US for treating their president like that, and for no reason. People don't forget these things. Trying and failing to scalp someone in a deal is like trying and failing to kill someone's kid. Nobody's thanking you for screwing it up and it doesn't lay grounds for any positivity.

Biden managed to unite Russia with China.

Trump will manage to unite Japan with China.

Where is that meme of Xi doing nothing and winning?
