Chengdu next gen combat aircraft (?J-36) thread

A paper published last month in China’s top aviation journal, the peer-reviewed Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica, showed that the J-36 design team was in the early stages of making a naval variant suitable for use with the PLA Navy’s growing fleet of aircraft carriers ;-)

Looks likely to be the case (for both).

I am 100% certain the photographer scouted the area to get a "photographic" shot like that. Its not someone randomly stumbling on a flight that they captured with whatever camera they had but a deliberate, structured, planned shoot.
