Indeed this is the mistake PDF owner did and probably this is the actual reason for it's closure. This strict line of rules should be in place here, in PDF and also in other forums except those who are actually for that purpose. Anyway It's feels bad that we lost PDF. Hope it will come back soon with proper rules.
So someone is investigating pdf for relaxed rules and troll culture? I think it has to be something much more serious than rules on an online board.

Is the webmaster willing to transfer site content so it can be stood up on another domain name like pakistantalk.com?

From what understand Pakistani military basically got the Pakistani forum mods and questioned them or something like that.

There is a thread on that forum talking about that but is dozens of pages long and I am too bored to read through all of it

Basically, "you speak too bad about us, now shut down your forum or we charge you for breaking a random anti-establishment law"

The forum stopped being civil after like 2019. For the past 2 years, it’s just been a bunch of arguing about internal Pakistani politics (like 50% of threads). It’s not surprising that it was going to be shutdown once the government caught wind of what was going on

Frankly speaking, no. The anti-China view is overwhelmingly dominant in the West and heavily Western-influenced and dependent countries like Pakistan. You'd think Pakistan would be different given the close relationship with China, but such is the strength and perniciousness of Western media; it's made victims adopt the point of view of their aggressors.

There aren't any different perspectives. There's tiny islands of sanity like SDF surrounded by the rancid sewage of Western propaganda.
Pakistani forums are always pro-China, have always been. But they are also always very unprofessional, with (the now defunct) pakdef being the only exception.

Pakistani forums are always pro-China
Lots of pro-US posters in PDF. The reason is because a large fraction of their userbase are overseas Pakistanis and often in Anglo countries. I agree with @ZeEa5KPul that Pakistan's reputation for being pro-China is overrated. Many of its middle-class are very Western-oriented and its political elites are bought off by the West.

I'm not totally aware of current trends but when I was active on Pakistani forums in the 2000s, there was a strong, inherent dislike for the West despite being a US ally with bought out elites. Majority of the folk have deep resentment of the West, not just on the internet but also in public. Personally, it's been rare to encounter a pro-US Pakistani on any forum, though there are numerous fake Indian profiles.

Pak political sections were garbage upon garbage.

Their military equipment threads were a goldmine though. I hope they archive all that info for publicly available historical and research purposes. Would be a shame if all that was deleted permanently

Yes especially since the PAF is way less strict about leaking info than their Chinese counterpart. Some knowledgeable members on PDF have legit insider info on performances of equipment and have leaked both strength/weakness of some platforms.
