Well remember the G20 only exists because Japan didn't want China to be a part of the G7 and then including more countries for the G20 was meant to dilute China's importance.
No, China doesn't want to join G7 because she wants to remain with the Global South.
Through that is certainly one reason, an even stronger reason is that China does not want to provide credibility to the G7 by joining.
More like they are fed up after years of unprovoked anti-sino sentiment from American regime, in some cases close to provoking war. While America is used to hearing a grovelling apology whenever they do this, the Chinese leadership have finally had enough.
