That comment by SDF Gordy was supposed to highlight and show that Taiwan has shown what a democratically run "defacto country" can look like negating the lists of failure of countries that surround China. But once again, @Petrolicious88 does not offer anything to substantiate his response to at least give us wumaos the virtues and actual accomplishments of Taiwanese under a democratic form of government. Which are used by many pro-democracy movements anti-CPC anti-PRC as the template that what can work in Taiwan can be replicated in all of the mainland China. Is Taiwan particularly good or something?
The supporting evidence to this theory is spurious, and dubious at best. If democracy was that superior to what's being practice in China and Japan (lol) then India by all measures should have surpassed China in every meaningful metric. From governance, corruption, social cohesion, life experience, expectancy, science and tech research input and output, economic freedom and well-being, security and safety of the people etc.
People like that person avoids the uncomfortable truth about their beloved western style democracy because they are so rigidly conformist and intractable when it comes to their wedded ideology that western democracy = bestest and end of History.
Notice that in many cases of blatant corruption of public officials in many leading western countries and governments like Canada for example, an official caught red handed of collusion, conflict of interests, and gross incompetence () nothing actually happens to that official. No ACTUAL CONSEQUENCE, NO ACCOUNTABILITY which in turn makes people question why the need to follow the rules and even obey the laws when it's pretty much tilted against the helpless and the weak. Take what's happening in Lahaina, Hawaii, take what's happening to the crisis of violence in major U.S. Cities like San Fran as the most obvious example the rampant crimes and theft continues to plague that city and the people suffer. But because of their political IDEOLOGY the Liberals (ironically enough) keep on insisting that being tough on crime = racism and anti black.
I can literally lists many such cases and all the response I get is at least they have the freedom to criticize the government because in commie China you go to jail and never be seen again. Which is UTTER BALONEY. THREE WORDS: JULIAN ASSANGE AND EDWARD SNOWDEN.
