Chine-language Twitter is batshit crazy too. Utterly toxic. Chinese-origin cults like Falun Gong gained a lot of influence. We have Republican politicians linking articles from their media. Considering what they usually publish, them gaining enough following to influence politics doesn't speak well for American education system. Most dissident cult media claims are stone cold low IQ stuff.

Anyway, I am completely OK with Chinese-cults and Indian-American politicians dumbing down the US governance even more.

the scary part is not the low IQ cults. it is the high IQs who have the time and energy to use ideas from the cults and spread them using sophisticated methods.

Denying the Native American genocide, for instance, is dumb. But it's not dumb to write a huge paper about it with fake citations. As an example, the page I linked had a citation to The Wild Frontier by William M. Osborn, quoted as a 'historian'. He's actually a retired lawyer. You can clearly see the intelligence in deception and framing here. I don't want to give more clicks but there's many more examples of misleading citations, attributions, twisting words out of context, etc.

Anyone wanna bet that she's gonna be used as a scapegoat for all of TO's failings? She's certainly been dealt a bad hand from the very start.

Olivia Chow has been pilloried as soft on crime, soft on drugs, soft on refugees, and as a tax and spend socialist. She was already being blamed for the supposed increased in crime by her supposed strongest opponent in the Mayoral race which was Police Chief Stupid Saunders. His people was going house to house essentially painting Olivia Chow as the embodiment of what's plaguing the city of Toronto. Good luck to her and I hope she does a good job in her capacity as Mayor. John Tory (who resigned as Mayor due to his grandfatherly fling blaming it on Covid-19) spend a decade or so as Mayor of Toronto and he was from a conservative wing of the political spectrum, plus he was also coming from the business world having been the former CEO of Rogers Media (one of the biggest media corp in Canada) and I am not sure what's his actual legacy for the city. Other people on this forum that's living in Toronto can answer that since my view on the guy is somewhat mixed.

Most people are followers (sheeps) and not leaders (shepperds) and the fact that China has been demonized from the moment it became known as the P.R.C. along with the party's subsequent failures and mishaps large swathe of Chinese people that have elected to come to America or Canada have made it their mission to shed away some of their allegiance to the motherland since motherland = See See Pee sympathizer and if they want to be able to get along with everyone in the country, in their respective professions they must regurgitate the I hate the party, love the country schtick. I can't imagine having kids in the country and then having to be constantly reminded of that supposed evilness of China and by association as a Chinese person. It's almost always inevitable that anyone person can and will develop some form of self-hatred, severe insecurity, disassociation with being Chinese (Chinese women choosing to almost exclusively date White men ) to fully transform themselves into the white men world and for full fledge acceptance into the white society. They used it for advancement in their careers, social hierarchy/strata. These women would defend their choices of dating exclusively white men by saying that dating the same ethnic group or asian as dating their own father which is head scratching LOL...You have Chinese men that grow up in both Americas without having any proper strong male role models that are strongly associated with contemporary China only to be reminded or exposed to seeing Chinese men as a gay fixture in stupid American shows, movies, with the exceptions of Simu Liu and a few others. Even Simu Liu goes out of his way to bash China just to find his pro-Canada/America street cred otherwise his career is over.

People like myself who strongly defends and identifies with the commies are far few and in between. Even then, I still have to be strategic at times in expressing my views on China, the political system to avoid raising too much suspicion to the point of being accused as a godless commie spy and sympathizer LOL...

The changes in both perceptions and attitude by Chinese descent and asians in general towards China will gradually change overtime once the geopolitical contest between the west, led by America against China has a declared winner and loser. If China succeeds in taking back Taiwan into the fold without firing a shot, THE BETTER, but if god forbid a war breaks out between China vs U.S. and her minions with the U.S. actually losing in that fight the shock and awe would be so earth shattering that China's prestige like it or not will hit the proverbial ceiling of space. The use of force and it's aftermath can change the geopolitical landscape whether one accept it or not. I just don't want a conflict for China to be respected but if it comes to that, China must win, and must win totally.

Tbh I think it's a very accurate representative of my personal experiences. The sad truth is that Chinese Americans are mostly anti-China / anti-Chinese. Imagine being this mentally cucked. I think the views are also stratified along the lines of gender as Chinese men and women are treated extremely differently.

Maybe infected by white privilege? There's a big difference with Chinese diaspora living in the global south and those from the collective west, maybe due the challenges we face, we lived in constant fear of being persecuted as being rich minority living beside the locals in deep poverty. And among those Hua Qiao who migrated abroad (can't compete) and had claimed US green card act as though they are superior than us....lol Its very condescending, I sometimes tease them what Job they hold in the state while being sarcastic mentioning that I have my own business to run so I can't join them.

I thought mayor Tory was bad.

Tory only wanted the power. Never seem like he gave a crap about doing a good job.

Property taxes never stopped going up under his megalomaniac rein.

He was not a conservative. He was just plain power hungry, and would do anything to grab that power.

One thing that always baffles and amuses myself is the incessant whining America and the west make against China where it accuses if not forbids it's universities, hi-tech companies and any companies in general to work with the PLA and help strengthen the country's defense industries, know-how, and capabilities and yet we all know and aware the tight partnerships with American tech and other non-tech companies with the Pentagon since WWII that went on all throughout the cold war years and to this day. Yet, why can't Chinas own companies and now universities work with their own military?

to most of them, china is a foreign land. most have no connections at all and are mostly unable to speak the language based on my experience. in certain cases, they ditch their Chinese identity to assimilate into the local culture, some even go as far as to become self-haters in order to be accepted by their peers. I know a friend whose sibling turned out that way.


regarding the issues of language, it is very hard for these young diasporas to learn when they are being overwhelmed by non-chinese media 24/7. take Singapore as an example. the household might speak Chinese, but outside of it, in the schools, public, friend circles? most of the time it will be English or "Singlish". so at the end of the day no matter how hard the parents try there's a high chance the children will lose their ability to speak or even write as time go on, especially once they get out of JC/secondary school and they don't have to use it much. and then there's the case of fitting in and the want to be accepted by your peers.

I will give an example In my case. grew up in a Christian family, and went to a catholic primary school, then an extremely liberal and western leaning secondary education. was self-hating for the most part of my life until 2019 were I started to relearn the culture and language. now I'm getting branded as a traitor and "wumao". most of my friends circle I know all speak English despite being Chinese and they absolutely hate it when someone in our group tries to speak Chinese. once I tried to speak Chinese to this group and I got scolded for it. "this is Singapore, we are multi-racial, speak English".

to summarise it's the environment, if you aren't strong enough or have the will you are going to get swept away by the current.

so honestly, somewhat agree with this statement. I'm not saying all of us are like that, but most of the diasporas, might look Chinese, but in terms of culture and mindset they are anything but Chinese.


(of course, this is my own experience. some of you older guys might have different experiences)
