He will attend quickly to the operations of the Coalition against Daech and will complement the Air army device already committed to the Levant. CBG will triple the miliary potential of French resources committed to the Levant against Daech

During its deployment, it will also participate in joint maneuvers in a multinational framework and combined, as well as bilateral exercises with countries in the region. In the Persian Gulf, GAN will for several weeks command of Task Force 50.

This mission of CBG is called Arromanches 2.

During its deployment, it will also participate in joint maneuvers in a multinational framework and combined, as well as bilateral exercises with countries in the region. In the Persian Gulf, GAN will for several weeks command of Task Force 50.This mission is called GAN Arromanches 2.

Formed around the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, the carrier battle group took the name of Task Force 473 (TF 473).

The TF 473 is placed under the tactical command of Admiral against René-Jean Crignola. CBG will be successively placed under the operational control of the maritime area commander in the Mediterranean and the commander of the naval component of the coalition in the Indian Ocean from its entrance to its exit and the Arabian Gulf, and the commander of the sea area of the Indian Ocean to the crossing of the Suez Canal.

CBG includes !

The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, the carrier air group ( 18 Rafale, Super 8 standard modernized 2 Hawkeye, 2 Dauphin and 1 Alouette III ) and the CBG staff

Air defense frigate Chevalier Paul ( 1 NH-90 NFH )

Anti submarine frigate La Motte Piquet ( 1 Lynx )

European multi-mission frigate (FREMM) Aquitaine (1 NH-90 NFH )

CS Marne ( 1 Alouette III)

British anti-aircraft frigate HMS Defender ( 1 Lynx and Merlin);

Belgian frigate Leopold I ( 1 Alouette III) up to 4 January 2016

It may be reinforced by the FREMM Provence (1 NH-90 NFH ) upon deployment of long duration

Punctually US naval and air units.

The buildings of other allied nations can be integrated CBG.

Interoperability of French resources with those of the allied Marines is insurance for the Coalition to act with great responsiveness to the Levant.

The presence of CBG in the Arabian Gulf and increases opportunities for cooperation with our regional partners. It is the concrete sign of the interest that France attaches to this area.

Okay, that's a very nice, multi-national Carrier Strike Group!

One CVN, two Air Defense DDGs, three FFGs, one AOR...and I have to presume that there is either a French or UK SSN with it too.

Very nice!

The Chief of Staff of the French Armed spoke on the phone with his Russian counterpart.

With the intensification of French air strikes Chammal power over Syria, and, in parallel, the rise of the Russian air detachment in Latakia and commitment of growing new air assets, a Cooperation between French and Russian armed forces is essential for the smooth running of operations and to effectively coordinate the fight against the Organization Islamic state. It is in this framework that the French General Pierre de Villiers, Chief of Defence Staff (CEMA) has had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart General Valery Gerasimov.

According to the press release issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the conversation between the two generals had "lasted an hour." During this interview, the military has "exchanged views on the situation in the field and discussed how to accomplish the mission set by the French and Russian presidents to unify the forces involved in the fight against international terrorism".

For its part, the French Ministry of Defence has not made any statement about this conversation. For several weeks now, due to operations over Syria, some Western countries appear to resume dialogue with Russia.

For several weeks now, due to operations over Syria, some Western countries appear to resume dialogue with Russia. Lately, it is the Russian fighters and uniens states that have come into contact on a radio frequency set in advance, during a test that took place over Syria. Subsequently, a second communication took place between the Russian General Staff, located on the airbase Hmeimim in Syria (civil airport of Latakia) and that of the international coalition in Qatar to conduct a debriefing these tests during an exercise.

After ships CAW :

Distance
You have understand center road btw Latakia/Tartus the more short direct ideal.
Probably CVN btw Cyprus and Syria about 50/100 km of the coast, up to center Syria a distnace of about 400 km up to border Syria/Iraq 600 km can go also in Iraq ofc for Mosul, Kirkuk or near 750/800 km.
I repeat from the Persian Gulf up to Mosul 1100 km and 1300 for center Syria a big difference !

CAW
Rafale F3
achieves 1.090 km combat radius in low-level penetration w/ 12×250 kg bombs, 4 MICA, 3×380 US gal tanks
with 4 x 250 kg in hi-lo-hi easy 200/300 in more ...excellent range for fighter of 24 t max.
Her recc pod detect targets up to 110 km !

Super Etendard combat radius ~ 800 km then up to Mosul also. Armed in general with 1/2 x 113 or 250 kg bombs get also a pod for recc.

And E-2C interesting for tactical coordination no air-to-air threads there.
Endurance max 6 hr, 4,5 hr to 320 km.
