Can anyone shed some light on several Volunteer Corps that were formed by foreigners living in the cities of China.
The ones I know of are the Canton (Merchants') Volunteer Corps, Hankow VC [supported by America I think, and disbanded in 1927 after the city was taken back by the Chinese], Newchang VC, Weihaiwei VC [British I presume, disbanded in 1930 at handback of the territory], and the Tientsin VC [later the Tientsin Municipal Emergency Corps].
I illustrate uniforms so any information on dress, badges or history is most welcome.
