Or both in one, in this instance.

I have long been a fan of David Lynch and Twin Peaks is an all time favourite of mine (never forgive the networks for pulling the plug on series 3). In addition I like many others melted when we first heard the beautiful voice of Julee Cruse sing "Mysteries of Love" in the film Blue Velvet.

For a time she became Lynch's house singer and played a big part in the music of Twin Peaks a few years later.
I was delighted therefore to find a version of her song "The Nightengale" on YouTube, backed by a series of cast stills from the series, mainly from the shooting of the famous "Black Lodge" scenes from the final episode.

Lynch assembled quite a cast and younger members might be fascinated to see some very established actors/actresses of today when they were youngsters and just starting to break out. There were many older actors, already well established that are now some of the senior members of the profession.
There are also some old friends, sadly no longer with us. Among these is the very elderly man dressed as a waiter. His name was Hank Worden and he was already in his Nineties and had been a staple of the Western Movies since the 1930's.
Twin Peaks was his last working appearance and he died a year after the show finished.
Its a lovely song and a lovely trip down memory lane as well.

Could not resist as Y Tube has the whole Black Lodge segment as well in all its double reverse recording glory - cooffeeee

BBC version of Sherlock Holmes staring the Late Jeremy Brett.
Thee Casting of Holmes and Watson was wonderful, the Art department may have disregarded the traditional form of Holmes dress for the far more fashionable, but the Production was above par.

Great Idea for a thread S.Viking!

One of my favorite TV shows of all time was Maverick starring James Garner. He was not in every episode. I remember my dad would only watch the episodes with James Garner starring.

My sister and myself were not allowed to talk when Maverick was on TV. If we did we were unceremoniously dismissed from the room. No foolin.

Another one of my favorites was Perry Mason starring Raymond Burr. The name of the tune is "Park Avenue Beat"..even though Perry Mason took place in Los Angeles.

I like a lot of music when I was a teen. Believe it or not I stopped listening to music regularly when I joined the USN in 1971. And I have never, even as a teen, purchased any music for my own enjoyment.

"The Letter" by the Boxtops is one of my all time favorite songs.

When I was young (12) I had a big crush on Ronnie Spector..I remember running home to watch her on Tv..American Bandstand or Shindig..that was long, long ago.

Here in Japan as well when US made TV drama series were at their hay days. Even in the 60's Combat! was one of the most popular shows.

Here are some that was popular in Japan during the 70's.

Tantei Monogatari was the TV series that shot Matsuda Yusaku into fame and I believe the screen writers and producers of Cowboy Bebop used it as a basis for their own show.

Hissatsu series this long lived series was a fictional group of assassins for hire that paid vengeance to the weak against the might and corrupt during the Edo era. If you like katana fighting and dark stories this may well be up your alley if you can find some vids.

The Rifleman starring Chuck Conners was another show that we watched. It was only a half hour long..but the show was very tense...about a rancher in New Mexico and his young son. Lucas McCain had a tricked out Winchester rifle..that he knew how to use effectively.
